“Location! Location! Location!”
Reviewed 16 September 2013

Well, location is great, and the breakfast is good too! However, those are the only good things about Hotel Marsala. Very poor, the rooms are poor, the shared bathrooms are poor and the elevator did not work when I was there! Really disappointed, look elsewhere! Trust me! You'll thank me!

used the hotel because its close to underground and train terminal (good location) easy to find and there is also a coach (terravision) direct to both airports just outside across the road.the rooms where clean but a little small (stayed in room 203). you can pick up a wifi for free in this room, beds where a little hard but comfortable, bathroom ok but it did have a hand held shower in a bath though, breakfast ok.room was qiuet but you will not need an alarm the church bells will wake you early enough. staff was pleasant and helpful.

We booked there 5 nights because the location is really good right next to Termini Station and other facilities. The hotel is really old, I would said they have 2 stars in standards. Our bed matress was so hard, that we needed to go get back-painkillers in a droug store to survive during the day and sleeping pills for the night. The sleeping experience was also not nice because the walls are like paper, so you hear all the people do in next door rooms and halls. Breakfast is really poor and not tasty, in fact we only take it 2 times. Internet and TV is not free in your room (it was free everywhere else where we stay in Europe with around the same room rate), so they charge you 5 Euros per movie, 17 Euros per 24 hours of open TV and 3 Euros per hour of internet. That is something that an average traveller really really don´t appreciate. It looks safe, our room was cleaned every day but all the decor is seems kept in 1985. About service, the girl multilingual in breakfast is nice, houkeeeping and the men in Front Desk not really friendly, besides the younger Receptionist.

The hotel is just 100 mts from the Rome Central Termminal which makes it very very very nice option to stay if u wan to stay near train station. The hotel is situated on first floor so its difficult to reach there as no elevator till there so u drag urself and ur luggage upto there on narrow stairs which is very uncomfortable, once there u get a lounge to sit n relax. the reception ppl are nice and there is elevator from there to the rooms floors.the paid wi - fi .. not good connnection option as its costly a bit and also they dont let u use net card time in parts but if u take it for an hour it ll finish in an hour n not like man y other places where u saty that u can use an hour in parts so thats a drawback.

ROmms are not very good or very bad... just ok. single rooms are hot whie double rooms are ok. in some single rooms even fans were not working ( cant say f it was a one time incident or usual thing)
the Breakfast included in rent was quite good and had variety . the cleaning was nice and on time.
Colosseum is not far from there and u can just walk in evening and see a lot of nearby places n come back so nice option to stay if ur one who comes in hotel just to sleep n relax and spend most of time in ROme

Great location, both metro lines pass through Termini station which is just outside the front door meaning getting to all areas of interest was simple.
Traffic was a big problem as a main road is right outside however, the windows were very good and kept out most of the noise. Church bells do go off at about 6am which can be annoying but not as bad as made out on here. Breakfast was mainly pastries and machine coffee. Mediocre, would probably be better going out and having it elsewhere. Overall a good B&B, probably more suited to one night stays. Not ideal for a week long stay.

it's better to find another place than here. you can see dust in the mirror and desk. we started to scratch all the time after going under the linens. only positive thing is the position. near the station Termini, and bus shuttle station to go to the airport.

We stayed here for my fiance birthday which i had booked in due to its great location and price.....but with regrets!
First all we had done two bookings to extend our stay, I had emailed them (which never got replayed to) and i called them twice to confirm that they understand we need one room for a longer stay (which was conformed), when we arrived at the hotel the trouble started.
The reception told me that he did not know of nothing of two bookings and due to this we had to stay in one room and change again the next day... The reception could only argue with me that they have travel tours and are busy and that for one night it shouldn't bother me!
I’m sorry but i have worked in hotels and never do you tell a customer just to take the room and change and not to be complicated! After a while staying there in shock and quite the receptionist told me he could give us one room for our stay with not moving, which i thank him. The staff were rude and unfriendly which is very surprising to me, didn't expect it.
The room floor and cardboards are dirty so do take care. Our room was very hot even with the air conditioner didn't help at all we had to open the windows for better comfort but it was very noisy.
The breakfast was the worst part, VERY POOR!, we only had breakfast once and just bought breakfast from out side. They offer coffee (taste strange) orange juice (taste like powder juice) bread that is hard, also they had toast ready packed and was outdated for a month! and old croissants that didn't go very well with me.
The next day of our stay there was a new receptionist at the desk where we handed the key in due to their rule you cant go out of the hotel with the room key! and they are not responsible for loses in the room!!! this receptionist told us we have to check out, I had to explain to him TWICE that we had another booking for longer, he told me NO. I had to even tell him which color folder our booking was in!! which i find to an extreme case!! So after spending a few minutes wasted to explain to the receptionist and confirm our second booking we finally could go and enjoy our day in Rome!
The last part of our holiday which i really hated was the day we had to check out! We had woken up not so early around 9:30am (check out is at 11am), the suit case was already packed so we rested on bed and all of a sudden the room service (which had to be a guy... my luck) opened the room without knocking and we stode there in shock , due to us not wearing so much clothing (very embarrassing, never happened to me). The room service closed the door after a few seconds and me and my guy just froze in bed looking at each other in confusion.
The final total summary is:
PEOPLE, SPEND MORE MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! This place is only good for a one night and is nothing of a three star!
---Receptions don't leave handovers for each other so they don't know nothing and are rude.
---Take care of room service just entering the room.
---Breakfast is terrible!
Apart from all this GOOD LUCK to who goes here and i do hope your stay will be better then ours!
