“Excellent location”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

There are lots to recommend this hotel. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, the rooms very clean, the beds comfortable, the location is ideal for visiting most of Rome's attractions with the Vatican being a mere five minute walk away. The price we paid was incredibly reasonable.

However there are also some negatives, the bedrooms are exceptionally small, the breakfast room smaller still, and its on the fourth floor of an apartment block and although there is a lift it can't really contain more than three. Four flights of stairs after walking around Rome isn't always welcome. The decor is I think best described as eclectic.

I'd probably award it 3.5 and good if the ratings allowed it.

We stayed for 3 nights in February 2014. Upon arriving Daniel at the front desk helped us plan our a walk for our first evening, and we are thankful that he did, as we wouldn't have been able to see everything on our list if he hadn't recommended this for us. He also recommended good places to eat and helped us throughout our stay. The room was very clean and had all of the normal amenities. Breakfast was better than we have had at most US hotels. Very good location and good value for money.

We have booked 2 nights at this location - near Vatican. Service people are very nice and helpfull - helping at accomodation, finding restaurants and recommending unknown nice places. Rooms are quite small, as this is an ordinary house rebuild for hotel purposes. Overall very good performance except breakfast - we came on 1st January after New Years Eve party / the breakfast room is very small so we haven't found any place and decided to come 30 minutes later. Later service people had more inspiration for chatting with eachother than cleaning and serving some new food.
After visiting them in the kitchen and directly asking for some clean cups and plates, we got something - any other tables stayed unclean. Still room for improvement, but overall (except breakfast) good performance

When we were booking this hotel I accidentally booked us two times. The hotel was more then happy to fix the problem. We booked the hotel using a credit card and the hotel could not give us the credit back so they gave us the cash. The room was very small, but it was big enough for what we needed. The bathroom was also very small but it did the trick. The room was air-conditioned and while it took us a while to figure it out but once we did it was wonderful. (remote controlled AC units above doors and windows are not very common in the States) We were only a 10 minute walk from Vatican City, and the walk to the Coliseum and other ancient sites should have only taken 40 minutes but with all of the street peddlers it took closer to an hour. Giuseppe was the only member of the staff we really had any interaction with and he was awesome. He helped us understand how to get tickets to the Vatican / Sistine Chapel, and let us know seeing Saint Peter’s Basilica is free, and that we could climb to the top of the dome. Every night he helped us find a new and delicious restaurant to try. The room was quiet but you could hear some minor hall noise. Our visit to this hotel was a very pleasant one, our only complaint being that the shower could have used some bleach or mildew killer. We would certainly stay there again. The only thing worth noting is the photos of the purple and grey room is not what our room looked like so I think perhaps they are renovating rooms.

Interested in avoiding the standard American hotel
? Look no further. Rooms teeny but comfy. Bathroom even smaller. Shower stall smaller yet. Weigh more than 200 lbs? Plan to stay elsewhere. However--towels are wonderful and plentiful. Shower head huge. Water pressure perfect. Rooms clean. Big windows open easily. Elevator. Breakfast room small but seats about 12 comfortably. Food ok and plentiful. Location is wonderful. Taxis cheap. Beds very comfy. Blankets are woolen and huge. Bottom line-- no glamour. Lots of comfort. Take you own creamers and tea. Your own small teapot a very good idea.
