Bad service. Fail to send guest to the airport upon requested time. Front desk staffs are rude. Did not inform the driver about guest's designated airport. Send us to the wrong airport. Did not follow up with guests feedback. Shout at guests.

We stayed at this hotel on our honeymoon while we travelled through both France and Italy. We stayed in a variety of places/star ratings, and were looking forward to this hotel as it appeared to have a high star rating. What a joke. The lobby looks nice, and that's where it ends. We were in a small room with two twin beds pushed together. Hhhmmmm,......not overly ideal on your honeymoon....the beds kept coming apart and the next thing you know, your knee is stuck in the middle. The bathroom is so terrible it's funny. Instead of having a proper mirror, it was half mirror, half aluminum foil. I have never seen something like this before. I've not made many reviews yet, but have stayed in a lot of hotels, and this is just bizarre. The bathroom was also very dirty. Next, the shower is so sad. Terrible water pressure, and every minute or so, the temperature of the water changes from freezing cold to boiling hot. Oh....and wait. I called front desk to get two extra pillows as there were only two on the bed. I was told rudely to look in my closet for the extra two. I had already, and explained that not only were those two pillows FILTHY, but they were also not in pillowcases. His resolution? He brought me two pillowcases and advised me to put them on the extra pillows myself. Anyhow,....I don't want to waste more energy on this hotel. I would like others to know before they book not to expect much - you will be very disappointed.

Room Tip: No good rooms. Avoid hotel.

Don't stay at this hotel if you have a bad back. The beds are awful...rocks actually, I just can't stress enough how bad they are. Based on this alone a four star rating is not acceptable. The rooms are small (we expected this) and tired looking, as are the bathrooms, but enough if you plan on being out sightseeing during the day. The rooms are a bit stuffy, but the windows are fully opening, if you can figure out how to work them, not very four star hmmmmm. The rooms were at least clean and the room attendant very respectful. The street is dirty making the entrance to the hotel unwelcoming and unattractive. The staff at reception were not very friendly at first, but by day three of four the manager seemed to relax and we had a great conversation. It is about thirty minute walk to the city, but taxis are plentiful and would cost us around 10-12 euro, the hop on hop off bus is about ten to fifteen minute walk, at the colosseum, that being said, there are also many sights to visit within easy walking distance. Breakfast was not offensive, but not four star.
I say make up your own mind, but take take the above into consideration.

Room Tip: Unless you truly love a very hard bed, this is not the hotel for you...

Breakfast is very good, good variety and quality.
The rooms are spotless clean but small, but we didn't require more space.
Bathroom is very clean also.
Receptionist (Mirta) is super friendly and helpful.
The location is very good 3 min walk to Manzoni station and 15 mins walk from Colosseo and Roman Forum.
The bed was fine, we didn't suffer from any back problems or anything.

The location of the Eurostars Saint John in Rome is excellent. 2 blocks from the Colosseum and virtually across the street from the ArchBasilica of Rome which is a hidden gem. The Metro station is only a few steps away - very convenient. The hotel is in a neighborhood area with some very good restaurants nearby that are off the beaten track of tourists. Most of the hotel staff speaks excellent English, but there are a few that don't so it may be potluck asking for help. Hotel is sparkling clean and very quiet and the AC was great! We ate breakfast at the hotel one morning and it was expensive but very nice - remember that there are a number of restaurants close-by that served very good breakfast for much less.
