I spent 11 days in Rome, 5 of them at Madri Pie. You can't beat the location for the price. It only took a few minutes to walk to St. Peter's Square. We were very pleased with the hospitality of the attendants at the front desk. Our rooms were impeccably clean, and it was wonderful to see the sisters walking around taking care of the facilities. The food was plentiful in the morning, but only the usual breads, cereals, ham, and cheese at most Roman breakfast tables.
The chapel on the 3rd floor also has the Eucharist reserved, and English Mass is said there each day.
We requested a room with a courtyard view, which gave us a nice view of St. Peter's dome. There is no wifi at the hotel. The internet in the lobby was down our entire stay. There are a couple of restaurants right near the hotel that have free wifi, which we used every night.
We stayed at Maria Alle Fornaci the first half of the trip, and while the wifi was strong and breakfast better at Fornaci, we were much happier with our stay at Madri Pie. The rooms were nicer, bigger, cleaner, and the staff much more friendly. This is definitely worth booking if you want a safe place close to St. Peter's.More
