“Excellent but some improvements...”
Reviewed 9 May 2013

We are just back from a 9 day stay in Rome at Casa La Salle.

If you want to go out off the city centre which is over crowded en a lot off trafic noise after a whole day walking and looking this is the place to be.

It's a Christian School from 1936.
The place is a hidden treasure, because there's a nice park around the complex, some sport fields
We have had two rooms.
A normal one and a corner room which was bigger.
The rooms are basic bath room and shower but this one is not bigger than a laptop screen.

The continental breakfast was fine.
A cross the Hotel you will find a market place and next to that some restaurants and a big supermarket.
One the left outside the gate you will find a excellent ice shop and some mini markets.
Walking further about only 5 min you will find a MC Donald.

Across that cross point a perfect bakkery and left the Metro Cornelia.
Also my favorite Italian restaurant you will find there, see my other review.

So everything you need you will find it on walking distance.
The positive are that the price quality off Casa La Salle is excellent.
Also the prices around are very good.
Even we preffered to take our dinner in this area, better quality and low prices.

We were so happy that we could relax within Casa La Salle.
There's even a church.

Are there improvement things.
Yes there are there's one elevator and was twice out off service.
It took too long to repair it.

Travelling with a 81 year lady which has to bring there suitcase downstairs ,I'll think it's a must to help her.
Nobody from the reception would help us.
Also the toilet doesn't work twice.
The airco als works only in the high season and there were some pretty hot days.
On our leaving day there was no hot water in the early morning.

With other things the reception was very helpfull.

We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are bigger

We stayed as part of a school pilgrimage to Rome and I was really impressed with the facilities on offer. All rooms were clean and had everything you needed for a stay.

The restaurant food was great and we never went hungry. We had breakfast and evening meal at Casa La Salle and I can honestly say I do not have a complaint.

I would recommend to anyone intending on a trip to Rome.

The metro is only a short walk away with the Vatican only 4 stops away.

Casa La Salle was the perfect quiet hideaway in Rome. The rooms were small (dorm style) but certainly more than adequate, with a bathroom and shower in each room. The grounds were beautiful, and the breakfast served in the morning was quite filling (for us). Meats, cheeses, cereal, fruit, buns, pastries, coffee drinks, teas, etc. The Casa was also a short walk away from a Metro station which opened up the rest of Rome to us. It was also a short walk away from one of the best restaurant's we ate at in Rome (Joseph's). We will definitely stay there again.

Casa La Salle, is the best hotel to stay when in Rome. Nice, clean, safe, good price hotel. Excellent location, 5 minute walk from the nearest Metro Station. All around good restaurants near bye, as well as a local supermarket for your daily needs. Do stay here if you want a really good deal. Bathrooms are small, no TV (But who needs one in Rome?) Wifi only in the reception. Staff is always ready to help you, everybody speaks English, no curfue and all around greatness and commodity.

Casa La Salle is a wonderful value in a perfect location! Clean, quiet, close to metro, bus and taxi and with the cachet of the Brothers of the Christian Schools chapel and grounds. Excellent food, spotless rooms, great mattresses and 24 hour security. I have had the pleasure of staying here many times and highly recommend it as an excellent choice in Rome~

Casa La Salle is a gem of a place -- prices are way cheaper and it's value for money. It is located in the main thoroughfare Via Aurelia and the Metro to go to the main sights is a block away. Other public transport is within reach. The accommodations include continental breakfast in a spacious dining room. The hotel is also near several restaurants that offer delicious yet reasonably priced Italian cuisine (GustoSanti, among others). The staff are very helpful and accommodating.
Best of all, the hotel is within the compound of the Headquarters of the Brothers of the Christian School so you can enjoy the vast gardens away from the hustle and bustle of the City. You won't regret choosing Casa La Salle!

My friend and I stayed at Casa La Salle in Rome last Dec 26, 2011 for 5 days. It was very clean and quite. It was close to bus stop and subway. We were a little bit confuse on which button to push to open the gate after a long day going around the city. Before checking in, you need to ask the receptionist which button to push to open the gate so you can come in.

There is no curfew. And you can ask the receptionist a night before for a transportation to the airport. It's not free.

Overall the place is very clean. I would stay again if I visit Rome.
