The hotl was very nice overall. Nice location cloae to the metro station. The inside was great. Than startes the problems. The air condiotioner cannot be put under 26degrees. I told the staff 3times about it. They looked after it 3 times havent find any problem (we will send somebody tomorrow blah blah). And if u tried to open the window for better ventillation, there was two football fields right under your window. They were always full till midnight. Very luoud. The breakfast was just ok. Sometimes you had to wait 10-15 minutes to have the stuff refilled. Overall a very nice place with very bad staff. Sure im never going back.

Room Tip: Never at the foodball field

a large dorm type location. breakfast not very good but the prices are great and it's an easy metro ride to the historic areas and best of all there are WONDERFUL LOCAL RESTAURANTS all over the area. much better than anywhere we ate near the historic parts of rome.

We booked this place because it was relatively cheap and we could spend Avios points on the booking. We didn’t really know of it’s religious background until after we’d booked, which isn’t really to our tastes, but I’m guessing wouldn’t put everyone off. The reception staff were friendly and spoke fluent English. We speak almost no Italian so this was a relief!

The room was okay. Definitely clean, but still in need of decorating. There were scuff marks all over the walls and paper pealing off. The bathroom was fine, with the shower not being very powerful but nothing terrible wrong with it.

There were two problems we had with the room. The first was that it was cold. The heating worked, but wasn’t switched on until too late in the evening. On the first night, we went to bed early since we’d had a long day travelling. We were shivering in bed because the thin blankets weren’t really enough and the heating hadn’t been on long enough to warm the room. The ceiling was very high and it’s an old building, so it took a lot of heating.

The second issue was a weird one. Above the bed, there were switches for the lights and a couple of plug sockets. In between them, there was a string hanging down. We figured that it must be a pull cord for another light, but nothing was turning on. Then we got a snotty call from reception telling us to stop pulling the “rope” as it was setting off the emergency alarm. To her credit she did apologise when I argued that it wasn’t labelled and how were we to know that it would set off an alarm in reception. The thing that got me though was that if it was an emergency alarm, why were they ringing to shout at us and not to check what the emergency was? I’m sure I’d also pulled it earlier in the afternoon when we first got there, and they didn’t check then either. Why not just remove it if they don’t check? I’ve never stayed in a hotel with an emergency alarm cord/button before, with the exception of when I’ve been in a disability friendly room at a chain hotel.

Breakfast was adequate. Not as terrible as some reviews state, but basic. When it’s included with the price though, I’m not sure you can expect much more at a 3 star.

Overall, it was all just okay. We stayed 3 nights and it was fine for that. I’d stay again if wanting cheap accommodation in Rome. The location was pretty good, being a short walk to the nearest metro.
