Quaint hotel in the heart of Trastavere and close to Santa Maria church which is well worth a visit and where there was a great jazz trio playing in the square outside. The room was neat in dimension but quietly located and scrupulously clean and bed was VERY comfortable.... great cappuccino for breakfast. Would highly recommend for a short stay.

This was our second time in Rome and we wanted to stay a bit away from the main attractions in the city. This hotel was recommended on Trip Advisor and was a reasonable cost, so we booked it for 2 nights. We took a cab from the airport and got there late morning. Our room wasn't ready so we hung out in the charming foyer and planned our day and verified directions to walk to to the Trevi Fountain. By the time we were ready to head out our room was ready. My husband and I had a double bed, with a little walk out porch (no real view) and then there was a hallway with a closet on one side and bunk beds on the other for our boys and a large bathroom with a nice strong shower! There are only 6 rooms in the hotel. We did get lost around Trastevere as the little streets all look so similar! Lots of restaurants within walking distance. About 30 minute walk to the Colisseum and Vatican. As with most European hotels, beds weren't overly comfortable and room was a little warm, but not a major issue. There is a continental breakfast in the lower basement area with a fine assortment of eggs, pastries, meats, yogurt, cereal. We've also found that while we like our milk and yogurt really cold, it's often a bit warmer than we are used to in Europe. But, again, great service, clean hotel and very cute.

I spent 3 wonderful weeks at the Residenza. It is a small hotel with a close knit staff who make you feel like part of an extended family. My room was spacious and the breakfasts were all freshly made and delicious.

This six-bedroom place is perfect if you don't need all the trappings of a 4-5 star hotel and are keen to experience a more 'local' experience of Rome. Charming/eclectic neighbourhood with masses of bars and restaurants to choose from - and a good jumping off point (on foot, bus or tram) for all the sights. It was always relaxing to get back to Trastevere and the Residenza after a day of high Roman culture. Rooms and bathrooms are slightly tired looking but clean and absolutely fine for the price. Friendly, informal, knowledgeable staff; they are not there all the time and you often let yourself in and out with a special key code. But fellow guests (to be found congregating in the one wifi hotspot) keep the place feeling congenial in the absence of staff.

What a lovely hidden spot amidst the bustle of this incredible city. We were without our luggage for three days and without our son who "forgot" his passport for our family vacation. So the trip started a bit bumpy. However, the staff at the hotel namely Hussain, constantly offered to help us through the labyrinth of issues. The hotel was the anchor to make the beginning of our trip great. I can not say enough about the staff, the charm and incredible location of this terrific hideaway! Thank you.

I travel to Rome once a year for work. I am a study abroad adviser and spend a few days in Rome with my students to conduct an arrival orientation. This is my second stay at Residenza and it was just as pleasant as my last visit two years ago (last year I stayed at their sister location Hotel Santa Maria, which is a little bigger and also quite nice). The staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and clean with modern, spacious bathroom. Room also has a safe, which I like. They provide a complimentary breakfast, which is tasty and satisfying with a good variety of options to choose from. I don't like to eat a huge breakfast, so I enjoyed the option to eat light. They do have free WiFi, which works best in the lobby and lounge areas. The building is old (it's Rome, so pretty much all buildings are old) and the walls are very thick concrete, so WiFi may not make it to your room. I didn't find this to be a problem, as I did not spend that much time in my room or in need of the internet. But it's nice to know it's available if you want it. The location is excellent. Trastevere is a wonderful, lively neighborhood to stay in whether you are coming to Rome on vacation with your family or travelling alone on business. I highly recommend this hotel.

BC, decorated by original ancient Roman artifacts found on site during restoration of the building, guests can enjoy a rich and delicious buffet breakfast, (scramble or boiled eggs, ham, cheese, salami, fresh bread, assortment of biscuits, cakes, fresh fruits, yogurt, fresh croissants, selection of fruit juices etc.). Thanks to great location, from the Residenza Santa Maria, guests can easily reach the main tourist sites like Campo de' Fiori, Navona Square, the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi's fountain, the Roman Forum and Coliseum with just a relaxing stroll through a maze of fascinating medieval streets. The Vatican Museum/Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Square are a few minutes away.
