The apartment is really well positioned, just 5 minutes from the main railway station, with lovely views over the square. The apartment was more than adequate, for our three night stay, for a family of four. Sabrina, the owner, is a good communicator with excellent English. I would definitely consider staying again if we return to Rome.
On the piazza of the beautiful Santa Maria Maggiore Church, a few short blocks from the Termini Station (with its shops and gourmet food court), grocery store across the piazza, taxi rank next to the church, and a very responsive manager, this is a great home base for exploring Rome.
The apartment is in a lovely location overlooking Santa Maria Maggiore, the view from the master bedroom window was amazing. It is easy walking distance to Ancient Rome sites and close to Termini so getting everywhere else is easy too. Suited our family with three young children really well, the living area is not massive but big enough to comfortably sit round the table to eat and with the bedrooms as well this is a spacious apartment overall. It was clean and nicely decorated and we would definitely recommend to others.
Santa Maria Maggiore is a central location -- 10 minute walk to Colosseum, Forum, etc. meaning it's easy to walk past and see them lit up at night, as well as going for a tour during the day. The main train station (Termini) is only a 7 or 8 minute walk so no need for a taxi when you arrive from airport. The flat itself is comfortable and attractive. The master bedroom is very large and has a wonderful view and good cross-currents (although AC is helpful at night because of traffic noise). The other two bedrooms are smaller, but still comfortable although the twin-bedded room is quite small. We were very comfortable with six adults. We ate breakfast in the flat most days -- pastries from Regeli (only a few blocks away, Via dello Statuto, 60) and juice and cereal from the Simply market right on the piazza. We only cooked dinner in the flat one night -- possible but crowded for six. We'd definitely stay again. And Sabrina is very nice, very helpful, and available by phone if problems.
This is a very beautiful flat! Our family of 4, with two teenage daughters enjoyed its spaciousness. The bathrooms had "rain" showers. Beds were comfortable and bedrooms were nicely decorated. View of Santa Maria Maggiore from the master bedroom is truly awesome.
Sabrina met us on arrival and arranged for transportation to the airport - everything went smoothly. Sabrina said to call her anytime, and I felt she meant it. I only needed help with finding the number to call when I had difficulty with my plane reservation, but it was nice to know she was available.
Some of the locals described the area close to the Termini as a bit "sketchy" and advised us to watch out for pickpockets. We didn't have any problems though. There are lots of good places to eat and gelato stands and markets as soon as you leave the building. Even a souvenir store right next door!
Six of us stayed for a hot sunny week. Excellent location- the Pope said a mass at S. Maria Maggiore while we were here. We hung out the windows and saw everything! Good cross-breeze in kitchen and master bedroom. AC works well for sleeping- and for street noise (of which there is a lot). Three blocks away is Regoli - best coffee, pastries, and take home whole cakes. But the coffee directly at bottom of building fine too. 10 minute walk to see Colesseum (walk past at night as well as visiting). Five minutes to Termini so no need for taxi unless non-wheeeled bags. Do take train to Tivoli and see Villa d'Este and its gardens at least. Villa Adriana, which is really Hadrians settlement is amazing if interested in Roman history. It's very dry and hot though w sandy paths so wear closed shoes and get there early!
This beautiful apartment is located in the perfect location (right in front of Santa Maria Maggiore) with easy access to sights, restaurants, night life, etc. Sabrina was super helpful to us upon arrival and even offered to help us with a fed ex arrival we were expecting. She provided helpful restaurant suggestions as well. The bathrooms and bedrooms are beautiful. The double decker tour bus has a stop 1 block from this apartment and we bought a 3 day pass and used it in lieu of taking taxis or public transport and it was a great and economical way to maneuver the city.
