I specifically booked this hotel for the awesome view of the Colloseum directly across the street. After reading an internet article titled "Rome's Royal House: Room with a Wonderous View". (Just Google the title and it will pop up to read if interested.)
In my booking, I requested room #103 as mentioned in the article and was so happy to have gotton it upon arrival!
The room was pretty big for Europe standards with plenty of room, and a nice large bathroom with a window.
The bed was very comfortable, there was a fridge with very reasonably priced drinks, snacks inside, a small tv (that was not turned on once lol), an armoire for clothes, a table for eating/drinking....and of course that view!
Open those windows and you're right in front of the world famous Colloseum....the view was absolutely breathtaking, especially lit up at night. I slept with the curtains open just to see it whenever i'd open my eyes through the night.
If I stopped right there, about the comfort & size of the room/bathroom, along with the view, the hotel already is worth the stay.
But what makes it even more so is the kind, friendly staff of the place. Upon arrival I was greeted by Catia, the hotel manager who was one of the friendliest i've ever met on all my travels.
I have fond memories of sharing morning "Cafe Macchiato" with her in the dining room...I specifically booked this hotel for the awesome view of the Colloseum directly across the street. I have fond memories of sharing morning "Cafe Macchiato" with her in the dining room before my sightseeing and she truly made me feel so welcome staying there as i'm sure she does with all her guests.
There was also the lovely, Alina & Jouna, who both, always with a big smile, served my morning breakfast consisting of cheeses, meats, bread, butter & jams.
All three ladies truly made my stay even better than it already was with having that room and gorgeous view alone.
I must mention that the location of the hotel may be a bit too noisy for some. I am profoundly Deaf, so once the hearing aid comes out, i'm in blissful silence....but even I heard the cars on the busy road outside with it on....and the hotel is on top of a busy restaurant, so there will be noise from that until midnight....so be aware.
There is a gay bar around the corner, but seemed to be kind of quiet to me, though i was there midweek....weekends could be another story if noise if concerned.
If ever i'm in Rome again I would most definitely stay here without a second thought and request room 103 again for that view....highly recommended!
Attached are my room pics.....hope they help!!More
