After wallowing in some less than satisfactory tourist experiences (that nonetheless cost us a bomb), this was a classy experience shared with friends, so in the end, no resentment on having to shell out the bucks. Little touches like the quality of the bread and a little teaser of cheese dribbled with honey spelled out that we were going to be treated right food wise. And the service was caring. Our bufala and tomato, stuffed pasta of some variety, followed by grilled seafood showcased fine produce without culinary fireworks - at least then we weren't too distracted from the fabulous views over Rome or our enjoyment of the old world glamour on offer.
