Went for lunch, ordered antipasti to start. Half the order turned up and was consumed 10mins before the rest of the group had received theirs. Likewise with the main courses - the waiter had missed off an entire meal.

Service terrible, staff inattentive, trying to blame each other and (unbelievably) the weather for the mistakes. The bill included a service charge which they refuse to take off and won't let you leave (including a threat to call the police) claiming it is a local city tax.

Mediocre food, especially when a pasta dish can cost €60!

Never ever eat here! There are plenty of other decent restaurants in the area.

Food ok but not the best. Service it would seem acceptable to have a party of 9 and all eat at different times. Only excuse was "it happens"

€970 for 4 people!
Fish not brought out to order but more than 10 people could eat!, one entree not supplied at all! Food returned due not to order! Threats from waiters and "owner" when the value of the bill questioned!
Huge price on wine!
Finally the Carbineri called due threats and disagreements.
With our fellow Australian family couple excited to be visiting Rome, we met at Trevi Fountain late May but walked into Al Presidente for an evening meal.
Big mistake!
My wife and I thought we knew how Italian restaurants worked after a month in this great country for visitors and around 50 restaurant meals.
Ask for a wine list before ordering or you may get the €350 bottle of above average red we were asked to pay for!
Finally paid HALF what was billed with Police support.
How are they able to continue fleecing visitors?
Rome, you deserve better representation. Visitors AVOID!

Wish we read the reviews...Three of us (two adults and 7 year old son) ordered our meals but the waiter offered an appetizer. We said "ok, we will take one to share"...One appetizer (mozarella, some ham and tomatoes) cost us 52 euro because apparently they put "a bit of everything on one plate" and counted it as 4 different appetizers. They also brought 2 sides which we didn't ordered (another 12 euro) and added 10 percent service charge, then requested we gave a waiter some tip...

Typical tourist shakedown. Added a service fee then asked for a tip. After I refused, I told them to take the service fee and give it to the waiter, they acted pissed and did not even thank us for dining there. My food was good and prices were reasonable. However, out of all the meals I ate this was at the bottom.Smaller places nearby without the hustle.
