“Clean, Friendly and Convenient”
Reviewed 28 December 2008

This place is really good value for Rome (though we did book through lastminute.com).
The cleanliness of the rooms was exemplary, with everything tidied and restocked daily.
The reception staff were really helpful and the restaurant staff made breakfast a joy.
We would absolutely stay here again.

Thank goodness Rome was the last leg of our trip. Hotel Crosti was everything we needed. Nice room, nice tv, nice shower, nice staff, and great breakfast. I have nothing bad to say about this place except i wish we stayed longer. The guy at the front desk had wonderful suggestions and things to see and do. I can't wait to go back to Rome and stay at this place again. THank you!!!

We were in florence and venice before rome and the hotels weren't even CLOSE. And this hotel wasn't a reach for us pricewise or anything. We've (my wife and I) stayed in nice hotels all over europe, asia, and of course US.

After reading many reviews, I booked the Hotel Crosti for a 4 night stay in November 2008. Adriano at reception is incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were very stark, having no pictures or mirrors or anything on the walls. We called it our little convent room since it really looks like where we'd live if we were nuns! The real issue with the hotel is the noise. We were on the first floor and the street noise is incredible at night but worse is the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in every room near you. Toilets flushing sound like a flood will occur in the ceilings, you can hear your neighbors touching hangers in their closets. The noise made it a challenge to sleep. The location is good with close access to both the blue and red metro lines (each within a 10 minute walk). The restaurant owned by the family, DiVincenzo's, was outstanding and we ate there twice. I really wanted to love this more than I did.

Just back today from a 3 night stay at The Crosti (£176 for 2 people for the duration via lastminute.com). As the previous reviewer noted, the hotel is aproximately 10 minutes walk away from the termini (main train/metro/bus station) & is easily found once you have your bearings. The Trevi fountain is aproximately 30 minute walk away for those who enjoy a stroll.

The hotel staff were always very friendly, courteous & helpful when asked to recommend resturaunts etc etc. The hotel has recently been refurbished & although the rooms are small, they are more than adequate for a short break & are nicely decorated & modern (flat screen TV on wall). The bathroom is spacious & has an excellent power shower & large mirror. The street outside can be noisy, however there are shutters on the windows which can be adjusted to your liking & we had no problems with noise. The heating unit can be used as central heating in winter & air conditioning in summer.

Breakfast is served between 7-10am & is a cold buffet style with all the usual breads, pastries, cheese, meat etc.

All in all, an excellent hotel in a good location & a great find! Very well priced for such a great experience!

Just come back from a two night stay at the Crosti. It's in a great location just 10 minutes stroll from the main railway/metro station. The hotel is quite new and the room was modern if a little small. The bathroom was spacious and the whole place was spotlessly clean.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. We had an early start on the last day and they arranged an early breakfast for us.
Unfortunately we were delayed when the airport closed for two days and had to stay an extra 2 nights. The Crosti was full and we ended up in a 4 star hotel at over double the price. it wasn't a patch on the Crosti. Good value hotel at £70 per night for a twin room.

We stated at the Crosti for two nights in November. The hotel is clean and we felt safe. The location is excellent and the area around the Termini wasn't as sketchy as some reviews have made it sound. The front desk staff are helpful but are by no means friendly. We felt bad asking them for anything. All in all, a good value in Rome.

We stayed at the Crosti hotel for 3 nights in October. I picked this hotel after reading Tripadvisor reviews. We took the train from the airport to the Termini and it was an easy walk from there, although if you are hauling suitcases it will likely take you a bit longer than the hotel says it will, I would say maybe a 15-minute walk. There is a lot of traffic to contend with and the cobblestone walkways will slow you down if you're pulling suitcases on wheels. The hotel is very clean and modern (as are the rooms) and has high-tech security so you will feel very safe. The morning breakfast buffet was quite extensive, there is certainly something there for everyone.

I had read that the area around the Termini wasn't very safe but we didn't feel that way at all. There are lots of little sidewalk cafes in the area, ask at the hotel desk for a recommendation. We loved the cafe they recommended to us and ate there all 3 nights. As long as you are reasonably fit you can walk to all the major sites from this location.
