“A charming boutique hotel”
Reviewed 2 February 2009

We stayed at the Hotel Crosti from Jan 03 2009 for 6 nights based on the tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed. The hotel was spotlessly clean, well located (10 mins from Termini Station) and the rooms were adequately sized for us ,although the shower was on the small side (so if you're very cuddly it might be a squeeze). We also found the beds and pillows a bit firm, but that could be because we normally sleep on a pillow top latex mattress at home.

The breakfast was plentiful and very tasty and the girls were lovely (they also make a good cuppacino and espresso, which we preferred to the filter coffee that is provided at each table). The guys at the front desk were also very helpful and accommodating. As there were four of us, we wanted somewhere to sit and play cards in the evening - no problem - they cleared one of the breakfast tables for us and let us sit there as long as we wanted. They also assisted us with dinner reservations (with both their own and other restaurants), taxi to the airport and helped us when we left a bag on the bus on one of our day trips.

We ate most nights at the Steak House diagonally across the road because the Bucatini Matriciana and Spaghetti Carbona were the best we had during our time in Rome and we found it reasonable priced (Aussie dollars don't buy you much at he moment). We also tried the Hotel's restaurant (down the street) and had a lovely meal there as well. At the end of the meal they gave us a bottle of frozen lemon licquer (very powerful and delicious!).

I think that the neighbourhood could be a little daunting at night if you were a single female travelling alone, but the 4 of us had no problems at all.

Lastly, I would like to thank all the Tripadvisor reviewers for their contributions. I don't go anywhere unless I have checked it out on Tripadvisor, and you haven't let me down.

Given I was looking for a moderately priced hotel in Rome over NYE I was concerned what I would end up with. After thorough internet research I decided on the Crosti. The reviews on this and other sites are accurate. This is a very good basic hotel. Location wise: 5min walk to Termini station and bout 10min to all other historical sites..note no major sites are in immediate vicinity. You can easliy walk to all sites though except Vatican. Room was small as expected but clean and a king bed. Very cheap in room internet was supplied (4 Euro for 24 hours of useage). Bathroom very modern and clean. Nice breakfast supplied didn't dissapoint. Front desk staff were very helpful in pointing out local eateries of whch there are many. All in all an excellent 3+ star hotel.

Me and my mother in law, we stayed at the Crosti hotel last september (2008). That's a great hotel, very clean, delicious breakfest, walking distance from Termini and a supermarket. Very helpfull staff. The reviews were quit right. I'd not hesitate to go back again.

This place is really good value for Rome (though we did book through lastminute.com).
The cleanliness of the rooms was exemplary, with everything tidied and restocked daily.
The reception staff were really helpful and the restaurant staff made breakfast a joy.
We would absolutely stay here again.

Thank goodness Rome was the last leg of our trip. Hotel Crosti was everything we needed. Nice room, nice tv, nice shower, nice staff, and great breakfast. I have nothing bad to say about this place except i wish we stayed longer. The guy at the front desk had wonderful suggestions and things to see and do. I can't wait to go back to Rome and stay at this place again. THank you!!!

We were in florence and venice before rome and the hotels weren't even CLOSE. And this hotel wasn't a reach for us pricewise or anything. We've (my wife and I) stayed in nice hotels all over europe, asia, and of course US.

After reading many reviews, I booked the Hotel Crosti for a 4 night stay in November 2008. Adriano at reception is incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were very stark, having no pictures or mirrors or anything on the walls. We called it our little convent room since it really looks like where we'd live if we were nuns! The real issue with the hotel is the noise. We were on the first floor and the street noise is incredible at night but worse is the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in every room near you. Toilets flushing sound like a flood will occur in the ceilings, you can hear your neighbors touching hangers in their closets. The noise made it a challenge to sleep. The location is good with close access to both the blue and red metro lines (each within a 10 minute walk). The restaurant owned by the family, DiVincenzo's, was outstanding and we ate there twice. I really wanted to love this more than I did.
