“A bustling hostaria, casual with exceptional food”
Reviewed 10 May 2014

Da Pietro was a few blocks from our hotel but we went because it was recommended to us by friends in San Francisco who own a restaurant and a friend who lives in Rome. The food was very Roman and excellent. On the first evening, we had pasta dishes and a grilled veal chop. The pasta was perfectly prepared and tasty. The veal chop was grilled to perfection and served with a slice of lemon on the side. It was masterfully prepared. At the end of our meal, the waiter brought the most heavenly biscotti and cookies, a prefect end to a wonderful meal.

“Very Good”
Reviewed 9 May 2014 via mobile

We dined outdoors tonight at this romantic outdoor street location. I had the wild mushroom fettuccini, while my sister enjoyed the ravioli dish. We split the caprese salad - very nice!

The staff was friendly and attentive....a beautiful evening meal!

“Great Evening at Da Pietro”
Reviewed 6 May 2014 via mobile

Our hotel concierge recommended Da Pietro in lieu of a different restaurant we had planned on going to. It was a great recommendation. The staff is very friendly (as noted in other reviews) and fun but best of all-- the food is really, really good. I especially loved the square spaghetti with cheese and pepper-- very simple but extremely delicious. The other entrees among our group were equally good-- eggplant parmesan, spaghetti bolognese and the pasta fagiole soup that my husband had for his main course. I highly recommend this little place-- near the Spanish Steps and a bit off the beaten path but worth the search to find it.

“Mamma Mia!!!!! Horses and Beer”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

We ate here three times. It was that good. The waiter greeted us with a welcome of "we have good food and bad service" The first was true but bad service was not. After talking about what we were going to eat, I asked for a wine recommendation. The waiter selected one, and just to be sure we would like it tasted it for us. How funny.

But look at this gift in the picture. We had been shopping and had bags of truffle products. The owner looked at us and said that's nothing. Came back from the kitchen and handed us a truffle the size of lemon and said this is for you and this is a truffle!!! We were shocked.

The waiter and owner said they wanted to come visit us the the states. We said come on.. We will show you around.. What would you like to do? The reply was "We want horses and beer!!!" The owner showed us a picture of his horse and and winchester cowboy gun.

“Delicious!!!”
Reviewed 29 April 2014 via mobile

Extremely good! Very friendly staff and excellent food. We have been to many high end restaurants but this restaurant tops most of them without charging the same high price. We absolutely recommend it. We had a great time. Quite a busy restaurant (mostly Italians), so reservations should be made.
Watch out for mix-ups. There is a HostAria del Pietro and a HostEria del Pietro!
