My partner and I stayed here recently for a short break to Rome and had a wonderful time. Rather than a hotel, it is a lovely B&B (and advertises itself as such). Our room was large, light and airy with a queen size bed, and was immaculate.

The place seems to attract couples and older travellers, so was nice and quiet. We were never disturbed by other guests and heavy shutters on the window block out noise from the street, which made for peaceful nights.

Location wise, it was perfect. Just a few minutes walk from the train station, and easy to find. The owner, Marta, provided us with very clear directions, and we had no trouble finding the place. She requested that we let her know what time we would be arriving, which we did, and she was there to greet us and show us around. Within walking distance of every major sight, we even walked to the Vatican and it didn't take very long.

The area itself is nice, right beside the beautiful Santa Maria Maggiore (well worth a visit) and with some nice bars and restaurants nearby. In fact there is a restaurant right next door where we had a lovely meal.

Breakfast was very nice, a simple continental spread of bread, jam, yoghurt, cereal, fruit, juice etc, plentiful and with lovely coffee prepared to order.

Marta was lovely to us throughout our stay, and could not have done more to help us, or make sure we were comfortable. On the day we checked out, she was happy for us to leave our bags for a few hours and gave us a spare set of keys so we could return at our convenience to collect them, which was certainly appreciated.

We had a lovely time in Rome, and Contemporaneo Rooms certainly contributed to that. We would not hesitate to stay again and would recommend this to anybody.

Very good B&B! Hard to find but once you do it is great! The location is perfect, two blocks from the termini station and great resturants within walking distance. Breakfast is light but good, unlimited bread. Walking distance of the colosseum/roman forum. Room is nice, cleaned daily. Would stay there again!

We went to Rome in the midst of summer, and therefore we wanted a hotel with a swimmingpool, to cool off. Hotels.com said this place had a pool, and even some reviews mentioned the pool. Of course there were no pool. Not even decent AC. Here is a list of other things we were promised, that wasn't fullfilled. We ordered a suite. If that was a suite I feel truly sorry for those who choose standard room. No minibar to keep drinks cold, even though it was advertised. It said 24h reception, but the owners went home every day a round 15.00. That means if you should get robbed or loose your key some other way, you can't get in until morning. Free wifi, yes, but doesn't reach the rooms. Så you have to sit in a shabby sofa in the common area to use it. Breakfast is a chapter of it's own, not as 'glamourous' as advertised. All in all a decent B&B but nothing more. It is in the heart of the city which is good for sightseeing. All major sights except the Vatican is in walking distance. I will still rate it terrible because of the misleading info. Will never return...

Very rude and unhelpful staff, particularly the guest house's owner Marta. Besides, it is far from being a design hotel as they claim on internet, it is indeed a very basic accommodation and guest house - in fact, it is the owner's home and she simply rents very basic rooms. Also, Wi-Fi does not work in the rooms. On top, breakfast is not a buffet as claimed, it is a very basic and simple breakfast (bread, butter, jam, one fruit, poor coffee). There was no air-condition in the room, just a simple and very loud fan. Finally, the photos published on the internet do not at all show what this accommodation is: A simple, poor guest house with very rude and unhelpful staff. We were very disappointed and do not recommend to stay at Contemporaneo Rooms, even if you are travelling on a tight budget.

We stayed here for 3 nights in July this year. Firstly, I should point out that the hotel doesnt have a street facing front, so it can be a little tricky to find. You go through two large gates into a little inner courtyard and the building housing the hotel is in there. For location this hotel deserves 5 stars.. It is right around the corner from Rome termini and within walking distance to most of the sites of Rome (7 or 8 mins on the metro to the Vatican). The rooms were extremely spacious with plenty of wardrobe space and an ensuite bathroom. The one slight complaint I have is that to use the air conditioning, which isnt built in (absolutely necessary at night time in the heat of July) you have to put the pipe that gets rid of the hot air out through the window, and it can be extremely noisy. However I guess that you cant expect to stay in the city centre and have no noise at night.
Staff were friendly to us and provided us with a map of the city and a warm welcome on our arrival even though it was after midnight when we got there. Id also like to point out their honesty as when we checked out we left our luggage in the reception area, and when we returned to pick it up my ipod was sitting along with our bags.. The maid had found it in the bedroom and returned it (this i feel is worth pointing out as i have had mysterious disappearances of valuables in other hotels in the past).
Breakfast was basic. There was cornflakes, a bowl of nectarines, yoghurts, slices of bread and some butter and jam. However, this was enough to fill me up in the mornings and for all the money the room cost I wouldnt have expected a breakfast of any kind anyway.
To sum up, id recommend this hotel for its location and as a cheap and cheerful base for exploring the city. If youre looking for something a little more comfortable Id imagine you can expect to pay quite a bit more, or to have to stay a bit further from the city centre.
