My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights and have no complaints at all. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are cleaned to the highest standard and the hotel is in a great location for getting to the metro station to all the sights and attractions. Metro tickets cost €16 for 3 days which is excellent value for unlimited travel over the 3 days. After an early rise and spending hours on our feet seeing all the sights it was great to go back to the hotel and enjoy some time sunbathing on the rooftop and to relax in the jacuzzi- bliss!

In terms of the location, we did not feel unsafe walking back from the station to the hotel in the evenings. Yes there are several 'working girls' on the street at night but they did not intimidate us or even look in our direction. We didn't find this a problem and therefore it would be a shame for anyone to be put off staying in the hotel because of this. Overall we are really happy with the hotel and have enjoyed our stay here.

TOP TIP- do not queue to buy tickets at the colosseum- you will be there for hours!! Instead- head to the Roman Forum & Pallatine Hill (opposite the colosseum) and buy a ticket to enter this. This allows you entry to BOTH the Roman Fora/Pallatine Hill AND the Colossum. It is also valid for 2 days. So it's win win- for €12 you can visit 3 sights and miss the huge queue for the Colosseum- you will walk past hundreds of people and go straight into colosseum!

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at hotel Pulitzer and enjoyed our stay very much. The room was very clean and the staff at reception were extremely helpful and friendly. The metro is also very close to the hotel too. We would definitely stay there again.

Stayed 3 nights. Visited Rome for holiday.

The pros with the hotel
1. Room was clean, modern and wi-fi is great
2. Quiet (we chose room not facing the main road)
3. Serves free water near the bar reception (i am guessing till evening)
4. Awesome services by reception staff - 5 stars!!
5. Near to Marconi Station. Transferring between airport or to city centre (attraction) is pretty easy. Figuring out buses route is pretty easy as well with the help of the reception staff

For cons, to be fair, the issues below are not related to the property but enough to raise a red flag for us despite the claim about the area being safe. But I guess that's the problem with municipal and enforcement, but I would like to note it to inform future visitors if this is something that would bother them just like us.
1. At night walking path to the hotel is dingy and dodgy. Every time we went out to grab dinner, my partner would rush me to walk faster as she really felt unsafe.
2. Line of prostitutes plying the main road wearing just top and undies (we saw one that went behind the petrol station with a teen and another came out from bushes with a guy buckling his belt and pants)
3. Look out for room tax which you'll need to pay when you checkout. I am guessing this is standard for hotels in Italy? We were also charge when staying in Venice.

Dear Guest,

First we’d like to thank you for choosing our hotel and also for your review. On the name of all of our staff we’d like to thank you for the beautiful words and also for the “5 stars” given to all our colleagues.
Reading the review , we’ve realized that you were disappointed about the area where our Hotel is situated. We would like to underline that the EUR district where Pulitzer is situated is a important one and very well considered. Marconi street is also a good Avenue Shopping with different important brands.
Hotel Pulitzer is also situated at only two minutes walking distance from the metro station Marconi and 10 minutes distance from Colosseum. As you can see from the reviews of most of our clients this position is very appreciated by our guests that are coming here, either for holliday or work.
We do not agree with the message which could be perceived concerning the location of the hotel, reaffirming the fact that the hotel is located in a safe area and supervised as all the central districts.
We are always doing our best in order to fully satisfy our guests and your comments and opinions are very important.
We hope to have the opportunity to have you as our guest once and send you our best regards,

General Manager

We recently visited this hotel for 6 days for our 25th wedding anniversary, we were quite disappointed with what we found when we got there. Firstly the Jacuzzi didn't work properly when we arrived and was still broken when we left 6 days later. Secondly we didn't know we were situated in a red light district and the girls were out every night showing their backsides amounts other things, it was quite scary at night coming back into the hotel as the streets were often quiet other than prostitutes and pimps. Also we were very surprised when we were asked to pay 3 euro's per person per night for a city tax this cost us another 36 euro's at the end of our holiday for nothing. Must admit though on a positive note the city is the nicest place I have ever visited and we will be returning again but staying somewhere else I'm afraid :-(

Room Tip: Standard rooms are very small better to book a more premium room if possible

Everything was pretty good/expected. Decor was fresh and tasteful, and WiFi was fast enough for streaming.

My only complain was the restaurant menu - its very limited, and the staff at the bar there are rude.

We booked a weeks stay here with secret escapes and got a fantastic deal. Our room was on the top floor and had a wonderful big balcony. The hotel organised a romantic package of rose, champagne and cake to be waiting for us when we arrived and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Also, the breakfasts here were fantastic! The hotel is right next to a metro station but it does take a short amount of time to get to the main attractions like the Colosseum.
