I stayed here with my 3 children 7-10.4.2012, and we had a lovely time. The connecting rooms were perfect for the 4 of us, balcony was great, and I don't think my 13 year-old has ever eaten so much at breakfast. And even my 15-year-old left the table feeling he can cope for a few hours before the next meal...
Once you get to know your surroundings the location of the hotel is great: far enough from the centre to be peaceful, but still within walking distance. Rome is all about walking. You wouldn't want to miss a thing. We walked to the centre and usually took a taxi back in the evening (7-12 Euros). Close by is a sweet ice cream place, supermarket, and a lovely family restaurant in a Hotel just behind the Cardinal. This is great for families!

The hotel website claims 'recently refurbished' - this may be true for the inside but not for the outside. We were greeted in reception by the sound of a pneumatic drill, drilling out concrete. No access to outside space unless you wanted to join the builders. We refused to stay and thankfully were found another hotel, although how easy that would have been at a busier time I don't know. Basically this is all down to greed - the hotel really should shut while they get the work done but they are too concerned about money and not concerned in the slightest about the experience for their guests. The result - bad reviews!.
Can't comment on any other feature of the hotel but if you are offered this hotel, don't go. Personally I would advise avoiding this hotel for the rest of the season/year and then I would ask some very direct questions to make sure that the work had been completed.

The hoel was under construction a lot of noise, the pool and the hot tubes were closed, they said it was not time for them to open, it was in the 70 degrees weather wise, that was one the reason we choose this hotel, they should mentioned it when we booked, disappointed with the lack of communication. Great location, easy to get around.

booked this based on other reviews -stayed last weekend 3/24/12- it is NOT a "little" construction in the front- it is a LOT -and continues into the hotel- if you want a room away from the dust and noise- they are in back with no view - and the most strangely configured room with the only window on the other side of the bathroom- it was clean - but wi-fi not up to par- and the lights all seemed to be 40 watt bulbs and located in such a way that you could not use the desk or read in bed unless you had your own light source- the parking area was also under construction - we parked on the street during the day time as it appeared everyone else did- and had our car broken into- had not left anything in it so was not a crime due to us leaving something attractive out to tempt thieves- just that on this quiet residential street thieves obviously know that the cars are rented and provide an opportunity - would have been nice to have been warned as by the amount of broken glass on the street ( noticed after our window was smashed of course) this is a frequent occurrence. Perhaps because most guests appear to arrive on bus tours (another fact I would have appreciated knowing about) this has not appeared in other reviews.

My friends and I stayed here from 21.03.2012 to 24.03.2012. It was nothing more than a building site. All amenities, bar & restaurant were often closed due to lack of running water. Everywhere was covered in dust and the construction work started before 8am every morning. The drinks in the "bar" (though there isn't one, just a canteen with table clothes) are as expensive as in the city centre eg: 2 G & Ts and 1 coke cost £30 euros. The hotel was very short staffed and the staff that were working were surly and rude especially Lucan the receptionist. The breakfast room was nothing more than a canteen. The coffee was undrinkable and the other drink options weren't much better - the food was passable but after 7.30am the hot food was luke warm. If you take a taxi to the city always a a business card of the hotel as no taxi diver knows where it is. The roof terrace is often locked. If you look closely at the photos on their website the outdoor ones are actually artists impression of what the hotel looks like. I would give this hotel a wide berth until the building work is finished and the staff have learnt some manners

Room Tip: Go to another hotel
