“Average hotel false advertising with the swimming pool”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

The hotel pool was green and out of use for the duration of our stay. We were not informed of this when we booked. Advertising a pool in use is one of the reasons we chose this hotel so we were very disappointed. The rooms were nice, clean and well sized however noisy. We had a pool view but it was very unpleasant. Schools use this hotels so midnight arrivals proved noisy and kept us awake. I recommend to request a room away from the school children. The Vatican is a 15/20min walk and a further 5mins for bus tours/ train/ shops etc. This hotel is no way worthy of four stars, breakfast was average and the staff were not over helpful. This hotel is ideal if,like us, you plan to be out at 0800 and back 2200hrs.We loved Rome and our visit but will not stay here again.

Room Tip: Upper levels away from reception. No good views

Dear Mr Andrea D.

I'd like to thank you for having been our guest and for your feedback on our Hotel wich you quoted 3 points on 5.

As far as our outdoor swimming pool I'm sorry to hear that you were expecting to be available in April.
We clearly specify in our web site and in all selling channels that is open from June to September.
This is on our web-page:

Swimming Pool:
............. The pool is available to hotel guests in Rome from June to September

Besides in Rome the climate doesn't permit to keep an outdoor swimming pool open.
I don't know any partner that advertise that. In case I will appreciate if you might give me some more elements.
I hope you will have the chance to come back in our Hotel and I remain at your disposal.
Kind Regards

The picture of the vatican is clever photography - its a good 20 - 30 minute walk to the vatican. The hotel is of average quality - the plus point it has a pool - the minus is there are not enough sunbeds and the water was freezing. The breakfast was good - cooked or cold food available.

I felt it was a soul less hotel - probably wouldn't stay here again but if i had to it wouldn't be the end of the world...

a cab to the vatican costs around 10 euros and 15 to the centre of town. supermarket just down the road where you can fill up on sodas etc. stayed here this week.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a balcony otherwise its a car park and wall as a view.

We stayed in a average size, clean room with a view of the pool. The bathroom was a good size with a powerful shower and a magnifying glass for close ups which was a great idea. The bed was comfortable and hotel quiet so we had a peaceful sleep.

The negative aspects of this hotel are;
The hotel is difficult to find by bus, from the airport, the hotel should either give clear directions or arrange a shuttle service, which is mentioned in a old directory.
The reception staff are not overly helpful, one lady receptionist in particular directed us to the wrong shopping centre which was closed for some festival. There was only one English speaking channel, which was a news channel.
The breakfast was the worse we ever had in a hotel, choice very limited, not tasty or hot and constantly ran out of food.
If you are a private person then this is not the hotel for you as, the pool is in view of everyone and the lobby which is the only place for internet access.
This is more of a 3 star hotel, that looks like a 4 star, we would not stay here again.

Room Tip: Higher level floors are quieter. Ask for a balcony. Request extra sheets, pillows etc. as there are...

I travelled a lot already, and i normally prefer high standard hotel (4 stars or above).
However this hotel was just a huge disappointment.
It has been chosen by our superb tour operator for a quick lunch during our visit in Rome.
This was the only bad moment of the entire excursion!!!
Hotel staff was moody, impolite and RUDE! The waitress were just smashing food in our plate with no care or attention! (i got my tshirt all dirty because of their way to serve pasta!!!)
The wine served was the cheapest wine ever! You can fool foreign people, but you wont fool italian when you serve 1 Euro bottle for lunch! It tasted horrible!
To be honest, this was the worse expirience i ever had in an hotel, especially if you think it is a 4 star!!!
I m sure they bought those stars, as they are not deserved at all!

Dear Mrs Ginevra,

I'm sorry to see from your review that your idea of the whole Hotel has been not good even if you only tried our restaurant.
However I'm gratefull for your comment that allow us to look through our lackness and improve the service.
In this instance I guess you might refer to one of some young school stageurs we accept to host for professional training and I'm sorry it might have been the cause of your disappointment.
As far as the wine, in our list we have all kind of choice with even best bottles of italian selection.
I see personally so many people satisfied of our italian cousine and since new Chef arrival on 2012 we are obtaining many appreciacions both from individaula guests, groups or even from guests partecipating to banquets hosted in our roof terrace with breathtaking view on S. Peter Dome.
I hope you will have the opportunity to try again and have a different idea, why not , even for all other hotel services.
Thank you again for you time and kind regards.
Massimo Valentini.

This hotel was very comfortable and very quaint. Located 1/4 mile from the Vatican. Has a lot of charm and great hotel staff. The rooms were very clean and the air conditioning was very overpowering. The bar staff were very helpful as well.

We stayed here with two childeren in two connected rooms. Rooms and beds were ok. Breakfast was included, not good and very crowded. Take bus 98 or 916 to go to the Vatican. Buy tickets at the newsstand next to mcD. Taxi from hotel to Vatican is about 10 euro, to colloseum 17 euro. Staff is willing to all answer questions and happy to assist. There is nice pool for younger kids.

Our twin room was small but modern-looking, with a wonderful view. The staff were friendly, however they are often short of change and prefer to put purchases on the room tab.

The breakfast buffet was good, and the restaurant was a nice area, however, food was nothing special.

Unfortunately, the hotel seemed to be in the middle of nowhere (there were buses, but not a lot of monuments in walking distance).

After a long day, we decided to have a dip in the rooftop spas. One was green and the other two blue, with the spa we were using having a dank smell.

It was overall a pleasant stay!
