The Villa was splendid and the gardens and vast number of fountains were unbelievably breath taking. We took so many pictures and videos that will never do it justice, but wow was it a romantic half day trip in a rental car from Rome. So glad we did it! We got a bite to eat at the restaurant across the courtyard L'Angolino Di Mirko which was excellent as well. A must do!

“100 fountains to delight the eyes!”
Reviewed 10 November 2013

Less than an hour away from a busy Rome is the gorgeous villa where on a sunny day you can spend a lot of time walking through it's beautiful landscape and many fountains. Then you can walk around Tivoli and have an ice cream in the plaza. Not to be missed because of it's spectacular views!

“Fountains galore!”
Reviewed 7 November 2013

We explored the garden (the villa was closed for an event) at sunset. The fountains (using only gravity, not electricity) are delightful, as is the view across the countryside, the ponds, and the garden. Because it was the end of the day, there weren't many other people there, which was lovely. Don't miss it. Takes maybe an hour and a half, two hours, to enjoy all the nooks and crannies and vistas.

“Beautiful day outside of Rome”
Reviewed 4 November 2013

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Tivoli at Villa d'Este (so much that my Fiance actually proposed to me there!). It was amazing - beautiful fountains on a beautiful estate. it was a nice day trip from Rome and a quick train ride. Highly recommended.

“Fountains galore”
Reviewed 31 October 2013

Lots of fountains to see all without the use of mechanical pumps. The grounds are starting need some extra care. Lots of walking, go early to avoid the crowds.
