We would like to thank Grant for his knowledge and enthusiasm for the tour of the Vatican Museums.
We had intended just to go for a looksy at St Peters and a bit of a wander. But we were approached and asked if we would like to do the tour of the Vatican museums inc. the Sistine Chapel. When we heard the price we had to carefully consider it, but as we were in Rome and would probably not be back again we thought why not - once in a lifetime and all that.
Our group walked straight to the front of the very long queue and for the next few hours listened intently as Grant took us round the museum and explained in great detail about the various exhibits. Now my concentration levels aren't what they used to be, and a museum wouldn't be my first choice for a day out - but my husband and I were totally riveted, especially with Grant's commentary about Michelangelo and the background to how his masterpiece of the Sistene Chapel happened. The whole tour flew by and was greatly enjoyed.
It was well worth every penny, and was one of the highlights of our trip.
