“Wonderful agriturismo in just outside of Ferrara, Italy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 September 2012

This is a fantastic agriturismo in the Emilia Romagna area of Italy just outside of Ferrara, Italy. Rooms are lovely and we really enjoyed the room we stayed in (Il Gelso Bianco). The entire place is kept in pristine condition and the owners, Roberto and Elisabetta welcomed us warmly into their home. We ate several home made meals here and each meal was outstanding! Roberto and Elisabetta also accompanied us on a day-long trip to a parmigiano reggiano dairy, a producer of prosciutto and to a balsamic vinegar producer which was excellent. We also experiened a great cooking class with Nonna Georgia and then ate what we made...what fun!

Very warm, hospital people. We would highly recommend!

Everything was perfect!!! I I would recommend this place to everyone! Nice, clean room. The whole house smells beautifully. Next door is a shop where you can buy fresh fruits and homemade products. Especially recommend the evening meal. If you want to go to eat somewhere outside- don't do this. In Corte Roeli I ate the best dinner in my life. Everything was fresh made and delicious! Owners are very friendly and take care about you had the best holiday ever. Perfect place to stay!!!

We didn't actually stay overnight at Fattoria Corte Roeli, but Roberto and Elisabetta picked us up from Bologna and took myself, my partner and my son out to their farm for a tagliatelle and tortellini making class with Nonna Georgia. It was a fantastic experience, Nonna Georgia talked volubly in Italian and my partner and Elisabetta translated, while my son and I learn't some of the beginner arts of pasta making from this master. After Roberto cooked our pasta and we had an authentic meal in their restaurant, sampling some of the best of the local produce from this fantastic region. We have been travelling in italy for over a month - this was one of the best food experiences of my life....

Owners Elizabeth and Roberto( both bilingual in English and Italian) have created their own home which they share with visitors includes the fruits of their labor, organic fruits and vegetables served in their restaurant with delightful personal service and care. The rooms they have created are lovely in decor, light and all with private clean bathrooms and window overlooking the fields of their property. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
The location of this agritourismo is easy to find from the autostrada and very convienently located inbetween the cities of Bologna and Ferrara, both offering a day visit from the agritourismo.
Our bedroom was beautiful decorated, very clean and with large window allowing fresh air and light into the room.

Room Tip: We were given a choice of rooms, all very nice, but we liked the room at the top of the stairs, lave...

We stayed at Corte Roeli for 4 nights in July 2011. Two highlights stand out. The genuine warmth and hospitality of Roberto, Elisabetta, and family are undoubtedly my fondest memories of our trip to Italy. But a close second were the absolutely fantastic home-cooked dinners we enjoyed each night at the agriturismo. Unbelievable (and, as another reviewer remarked, our best meals in Italy by far).

The rooms were spotless and comfortable. And the location was ideal for exploring the cities/art of Bologna, Ferrara, and Ravenna as well as the surrounding countryside. We did so via public transport (buses and trains) and bicycle, but a car could come in handy for some destinations outside of larger cities.

Corte Roeli is a great place to experience Italy outside the typical tourist venues, experience incredible hospitality and homemade cuisine, learn firsthand about country-life in this part of E-R, and maybe pick up a bit of Italian. I hope to be back and recommend it most highly!

Words cannot express the warmth and comfort found at Fattoria Corte Roeli!!

Roberto, Elisabetta and Family are excellent hosts!! Previous reviews helped us choose Agriturismo experience at Fattoria Corte Roeli. We arrived on Sunday, May 1st which Elisabetta conveniently arranged to meet us at the train station. From our greeting to the time we left, we received great care from this family. This former convent has been remodeled with care and all modern conveniences. Our room and private bath had excellent decor and was very comfortable. Our terrace view was of surrounding farms. Breakfast served with fresh apricot juice was fabulous.

We took pasta class from the international Nonna Giorgia! Thanks for your patience! We love you Nonna Giorgia!! The location is convenient with two bus stops off the property for transport to nearby Bologna and Ferrara. We spent one day walking in the town of Ferrara. Bus tickets should be purchased in Bologna or other local city before arriving at the farm.

This trip was to celebrate my birthday! The family all remembered and helped me celebrate so wonderfully. Roberto and Elisabetta even arranged cake and candle at the end of our fabulous meal in the restaurant.

What still impresses is the hospitality of this family. Elisabetta helped us with all arrangemens, including transport from/to the train station and made sure we got the correct train to Florence. We cannot think of a better place for this experience!!

If you are looking for great, relaxing days in the countryside this is the place! I love Agriturismo at Fattoria Corte Roeli and would definitely return again!!

Thank you Elisabetta, Roberto, Nonna Giorgia, Nonna Luciana, Leandro and Daidara for a wonderful visit!!
