“The best Dinner in Bologna”
Reviewed 20 July 2013

We got the last table outside and the restaurant was full. Food was very good and the service was excellent. The waiter was knowledgeable about the food and recommended a delicious wine. Lots of great fish dishes on the menu together with typical local fare. The bill including wine and service for two (3 courses each plus 1 additional shared course, wine and coffee) came to Eur130.

“A fish restaurant with local fare”
Reviewed 28 May 2013 via mobile

This is essentially a fish restaurant which also serves typical Bolognese food. We ate completely from the Bolognese menu and were delighted with our meals. Three courses plus wine, coffee and after-dinner drinks for two for about 100 euros. The staff is engaging and knowledgable. A very fine evening.

“Comfortable and Convenient”
Reviewed 12 May 2013

After a long flight the restaurant was close to our hotel. Cute small place. The menu has typical Bolognese dishes and other "specials". We choose the non-traditional : gnocchi with gamberi and the monkfish. The food was good, comfortable place, staff very nice.

“a nice place, informal but good quality of food.”
Reviewed 6 May 2013

If you want a night out, but tired to dress up, and you prefer more of an informal place, where locals go, food is very good, wines are excellent........remember to let the manager guide you through the selections of what is fresh and wine.
Excellent San Giovese and very affordable price.
My partner and i ended up there as we were staying at the Hotel Art Corona.
That night we were tired and did not feel like waling too much....but we would never give up authentic good Italian food.....so we went to Ciacco and it is simply wonderful.Lots of repeat customers.....locals.....so this is a good sing...
We loved the friendly and cosy atmosphere...very informal and still we had a terrific dinner.

“Worth a return trip”
Reviewed 5 April 2013

Have eaten here twice. The first time, we were staying in 2011 at the Art Hotel Corona d'Oro around the corner, which sent us there. We had a quick lunch of the best breadsticks and mortadella in the world, and vowed to come back on a subsequent trip. It's unusual for us to go back to a place two years later, but we went back to Bologna in April 2013 just for the food and the architecture. We loved them both. Finding Ciacca was more difficult, because we stayed elsewhere, but we finally went into the hotel and asked about that good little restaurant around the corner. Immediate recognition and smiles got us there. We weren't all that hungry because of what we had planned for dinner, but we ate a wonderful lunch whose most memorable feature was the white anchovy and tomato confit tart--and the bread and breadsticks, accompanied by a good bottle of wine. We were sorry we couldn't eat dessert, but we had to prepare for the dinner ahead and so passed. It was a wonderful meal, reasonably priced, and we would recommend this place to anyone.
