“Basic but all you need for a short stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014

Clean rooms with more than adequate facilities and very comfortable bedding . The best thing about this hotel is the outside terrace on which the excellent breakfasts can be taken - the selection of pastries is truly amazing !

A little way from the historic centre. Anyone saying they can walk it in 15 minutes must be related to Usain Bolt ! More like 25 minutes which is actually what they said at reception. But 100 metres away is the stop from which you can catch the 13 or 19 bus services which are frequent and get you to the historic centre in 5 minutes at a cost of 1.5 euro.

Now to Bologna itself. Good points. A wonderful choice of eateries often hidden down alleys or in delightful piazzas. Wonderful architecture at which point we start to arrive at the bad points. The city is almost ruined by mindless graffiti and flyposting. This is not "Banksy" style graffiti - this is vandals with a spray can. And what isn't covered in graffiti is covered in thousands upon thousands of fly posters . A crying shame.

But the worst thing about Bologna is the beggars. Not your, sitting down with a cap or a cup beggars but beggars who hassle you and follow you for maybe 100 yards constantly jostling you and refusing to stop. We were only there for 4 days and got accosted ( pushed and shoved by beggars ) usually mothers and daughters and I would guess of Eastern European origin as they didn't seem like native Italians. So if you do go to Bologna expect to have your quiet stroll rudely and unpleasantly interrupted.

I've previously been to Milan, Sorrento, and Rimini and never had these problems and unless the Mayor of Bologna does something about the aggressive beggars , I for one won't be returning any time soon.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and found it very comfortable. We had a room facing the rear which had a great view of Bologna and the room had double glazing so was quiet. The air conditioning was also good. The room and bathroom were adequate although there was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. There was a good breakfast selection and it was nice to be able to sit out on the terrace. We were given some useful written information when we checked in. The only issue we had was with the wifi. The connection was weak and kept dropping out. Overall good value for money if you're happy to stay a bit out of the centre. Gigi restaurant down the street towards town is great.

We were here for 2 nights. It is about a 15 minute walk to the centre of Bologna, so a nice location. Check in staff were friendly and helpful. Our first room was allocated by the lift and, after we asked for a quitter room, we were switched with no trouble. Clean, comfortable bedroom . The breakfast was the highlight, as it offered once of the widest and best quality ranges of sweet and savoury dishes I have come across. many of the pastries are baked by the chef on the premises and were excellent. Cappuccinos are served by the staff. We don't normally eat breakfast much but this was too much to resist or ignore/
Would come back.

I stayed in Bologna only 1 night but I will definetely go there again and pick this hotel without doubt!
Walking distance to old town.
Very spacy rooms.
Comfortable beds.
Very friendly staff.
Lovely breakfast.
Very comfortable bed.
Fast internet, big screen TV.
Quite reasonable price for what you get.
Loved it and absolutely recommend it to anyone regardless the sort of trip.

My husband had 2 business meetings about 30 minutes away from the Bologna. Since I tagged along, we've decided to stay in Bologna. This happened to be the best deal. The only problem was when we got there, there was no parking under ground, so the front desk staff (who was nice) said since it was a holiday, we could park anywhere, but needed to move the car by 0800. Once we got to the hotel to check in (which was late evening and we drove, so we were very exhausted), she informed us that there is free parking about 3 blocks down. So after dinner, instead of moving our car in the morning, we've decided to move the car that evening. Wish she could have told is first time around. Breakfast was typical Italian breakfast; nothing extraordinary, lot of pastries..ie.nutella! The hotel was close the city center 15 min walk, or 5 minute bus ride. I would stay there again for the rate.

We were initially attracted to this hotel because of the photos. They are quite misleading. The lobby and facade of the hotel are true to the photos advertised however the rooms are not quite so. We were expecting a modern, newly renovated hotel room, when in fact we got quite the opposite. Sure there was a modern couch and television but everything else was outdated. The suite included a kitchen we never used. The room was dark and dreary and not happy and bright as that photographed. The bidet was also right in front of the toilet with just about 4 inches room in between. I also got an eerie feeling while in the bathroom. The wifi is awfully slow and unreliable. We initially booked 2 nights but checked out the morning after. If you are looking for a budget hotel for the family, this is it. Otherwise, don't bother.

Room Tip: Ensuite kitchen included Ask for a modern room if they have one like the those in the photos advert...

We were here in may 2014 for 4 nights. The location is good but not the best, there are 2 km to city center. The best is the breakfast, very rich and tasty. The room was clean and nice. The wifi is bad in the room, almost no wifi. In the reception is good. The bathroom is looking great but often it was smealing bad from pipes. The walls could be better soundproof, i could hear everything people were doing especialy flushing.. The staff was good giving info and also discounts to some restaurants. The tv remote was working a little bit bad.
