The sharp eyed amongst you wil have noticed that I have filed 3 restaurant reviews from Bologna over the last 5 days, all rating 5 stars. Osteria Broccaindosso should rate 10 stars in comparison as it was best by far.
We started with a veggies mix of antipasto to share including melon and pine nut salad, fresh figs, melanzane parmigianno, stuffed tomatoes, zucchini frittata, and more....
Primi were lasagne (so light) and passatella verdure with zucchini ....amazing.
We shared the secondi ....beef carpaccio with green salad and the most amazing roast potatoes.
We were talked into sharing a pudding......chocolate mousse, almond tart, profiteroles, mascarpone and the best creme caramel I have ever eaten bar none.
All,washed down with a bottle of Lambrusco.
The service was excellent and the ambiance very cosy .
All this for €78........how do they do it?

If you are looking for genuine bolognese cuisine this is the place. Simple wood tables, nice local wine choices, kind service and a classic and abundant menu. We choose the antipasti-and we got 6 different ones!!!, i.e. prosciutto e melone, delicious quiche with peers and local sausages with beans just to mention a few. Then we had the 2 'primi piatti' with porcini mushrooms, see picture...unbelievably nice!!! And lasagne, one of the best I have ever had!

Ate here based on hotel recommendation, TA reviews and location near our hotel. Not in the best part of the city, but worth a visit if you really want something that has not been influenced by pandering to tourists. Menu is pretty limited but wanted local pasta. We had an appetizer that consisted of what seemed like a never ending series of small plates and the three pasta sampler (for two). I thought we would get a plate with small portions of three different pastas on it, but they served in sequence what looked like three full size pasta portions that were dished out to me and my wife. All delicious and we were stuffed. With water and wine, about 55 euros. Excellent food (not fancy, but well prepared local dishes) and great service.

Excellent friendly service, authentic food (even if they do have an English menu). Solid wines. All at a great price. What more could you want?

Traveling family of 4 (9 yr old and 3 yr old). Staff was great and accommodating and went out of their way to provide great service to our children. Had 3 course pasta, dessert platter, and great wine at only 10 eur bottle.
