“Friendly and economical short stop for lunch in Bologna”
Reviewed 24 December 2013

We were running around and decided to stop here for lunch and a glass of wine. Located next to a large tower on a street running parallel to the Via Rizzoli one block behind the Apple store. The staff is friendly. We grabbed a table, looked at the menu and ordered the Lasagna and the Bolognaise meatballs and peas. This is an Enoteca so the atmosphere has you surrounded by wine. So I asked the waiter to recommend a local wine, which he did. It went well with the food. The lasagna was nicely crusted and the meat and cheese were in their own layers. Very enjoyable and popular at many tables. The meatballs and peas were a hearty combination on this somewhat cold December day. Everything was served punctually and we paid at the register when leaving.

The vast majority of the patrons were Italian so the atmosphere is vibrant and friendly. Check out the pricing on the bottles where there is a choice between take-away, in-house bottle and by the glass pricing. The logo is also very nice. All in all, a good stop that got on back on our way feed well and refreshed.

“Amazing wine, delicious carpaccio & wonderful owners!”
Reviewed 24 October 2013

We stumbled upon this gorgeous wine bar in a small street in Bologna next to San Pietro. We enjoyed some beautiful wine and carpaccio at faccioli and it was so good we thought we'd have to try their lasagne. The lasagne turned out to have the best bolognese sauce we had had in Bologna. The owners were very friendly and inviting and they serve top shelf wines by the glass (unlike lots of other wine bars in Bologna). You must try this wine bar!!

“Great choice of wine and nibbles.”
Reviewed 6 October 2013

On the occasions when my wife and I have enjoyed a (cough) "big lunch", we tend to seek out places just like Enoteca Storica Faccioli in the evening.

The husband and wife team who run the place are passionate about the food and wine from their native Emilia-Romagna and it shows. Their cheese and cold-cut plates are magnificent, with an outstanding mortadella. All of the cheeses we had on both of our visits, were in the peak of condition.

The wine list is a dream, with fine examples from all over Italy. Special mention for the La Stoppa 2004, which was a bargain, as well as delicious. As is the custom with a few Italian wine bars, mark-ups were uniform, leading you to be a little more adventurous with your choices.

This is a great local wine bar, with a friendly and hard-working management team that deserves a visit if you are in Bologna.
