I stayed at Hotel Accademia for about a week while at a conference. The hotel was well situated: a short walk to the Univ of Bologna and many eateries and shops nearby. The service was attentive, the room immaculate with ample storage space, the breakfast generous, the price very good. If you want luxuries, you won't be happy here; I'm fairly picky however and I was delighted with my stay.

Our very first hotel in Italy....Clean, excellent location, great restaurants/shops very nearby. The best breakfast at any hotel we stayed at while in Italy for 3 weeks!!! AWESOME cappacino's :) . They went out of their way to be accommodating (directions, parking, luggage, etc.) and spoke English well enough to communicate easily. VERY gracious staff. We would DEFINITELY stay there again....

Room Tip: talk to others who have been there! Be sure there is parking available....parking is very hard to find and costly

Nice off street parking lot behind the hotel, friends desk people who help you plan your sightseeing, clean, efficient rooms. No elevator so not recommended for those who can't do steps. Street noise at night due to be located in middle of university area but not bad enough to prevent us from staying there again.
Could walk to anywhere in the old town easily from here.

This hotel needs refurbishing. The carpets in the lobby are worn, the room was very small. The hotel is in a very noisy neighborhood with several bars around it. People were chatting and drinking on the street around the hotel. The staff sent us to this restaurant Da Nello al Montegrappa without suggesting making reservations. The people at the restaurant were very rude when they realized we did not have reservations and literally threw us out of the restaurant. We were so startled and surprised by this treatment that we did not know how to react. Then the waiter yelled at my son "what are you still doing here I told you we have no room" I have traveled a lot and have never received this treatment. Don't go to this restaurant.
