We have fallen in love with Bologna - a city with character with all of its porticos, and having a university in a city always gives it a buzz. And yet it is a 'real' city with people going about their daily business rather than just falling over other tourists all the time.
This hotel is convenient for the city centre - about 8 minutes walk to the main square, and it is on a very quiet side street so you are unlikely to get any traffic noise.
The room was of a reasonable size, but the windows were internal (facing an internal stairway) so we couldn't even tell what the weather was doing. Breakfast was ok but in a small room, so you had to 'dance' with other guests to get past each other to the breakfast buffet. If they couldn't have used the outside tables, I'm not sure how they would have coped.
There are a couple of good restaurants nearby - al Sangiovese on the same street and just on the parallel street Osteria al 15.More
