“Sweet n sour”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

Good sized room, uncomfortable bed,
Bathroom was tiny, shower, not meant for human use. Grimy and tiny. Hot and cold mixer was very difficult either boiling hot or cold, in between was impossible. The shower also wouldn't hold, kept on dropping down. So showering was a complete nightmare.
Breakfast was good.
Very centrally located.
Staff very friendly.
The corridors were a bit depressing, and the elevator up was a bit scary as the door wouldn't close properly.

Excellent location for exploring central Bologna. Just a 2 minute walk from the main square. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Room more than adequate as a base for exploring and good shower to clean up after sightseeing. Bed on the hard side for me but that is a personal choice (room 16 triple with view of old town). Wide choice of typical Italian breakfast items. Coffee excellent!

This was a great hotel, location excellent. Way better than expected for a 2 star! The staff were really helpful and friendly. There was a lift so no stairs with heavy luggage. Comfortable lounge and satellite tv.

We stayed here six nights, each day took a train to Parma, Ravenna, Florence etc. The staff was terrific, very helpful on the trains and where to catch buses and suggested a couple of fabulous restaurants. We asked for a quiet room, was given one, view not much but quiet, and clean....bed just a little hard for me. Breakfast had quite an assortment of items to choose from, breads, cheeses, meats, loved their cappuccino machine! Would stay here again for price and location.

Room Tip: We had a room on what I would call the back of the hotel, it was quiet.

I paid a bit more money to not have the non a/c room with shared bathroom. I agree with Ann's review from June 2014 that the fact about the cheapest room without a/c was not communicated properly.

I was instead given the handicapped room which I did not need but it did have the a/c and private bathroom, but the only drawback is after taking a 5 minute shower, the entire bathroom was flooded - a safety hazard, especially to someone who IS handicapped. The a/c worked well, and I didn't have a problem with the wifi other than a few occasional stall outs. The staff is very nice. I wasn't feeling well, and they prepared me tea with honey in the late evening. Breakfast was like any other in Italy. Great location - I couldn't ask for better. Not noisy at all. I will stay again if in Bologna.

Room Tip: Be sure if you choose cheapest option that you are in a/c room with private bathroom unless you don...

I had a less expensive room at the hotel which had no air conditioning (although the hotel had AC) and the bathroom was down the hall (although private). This was fine for me given it wasn't too hot during my one night stay but it wasn't clear from the description online that this would be the case. My room had a tv which didn't seem to work. The 'free wireless' was only for one hour, after which you have to pay for a day pass (3Euro). Again, not terrible, but just so you know. The breakfast was good with a nice selection of rolls and pastries. Overall I was satisfied with the experience, but I think the advertising was a little misleading.

This hotel really lives up to its name, the location is as central as you could wish for. We stayed here for two nights and would definitely recommend this hotel to others. The airport shuttle stops just around the corner, and the city highlights are just a few steps away. Breakfast was actually pretty good for Italian standards. The room and the bathroom were clean and comfortable. Decoration was a bit old fashioned, but in my opinion this was one of the charms of this hotel. The staff are trying their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible and are very friendly, even if you don’t speak Italian. The hotel is located on the third floor, so press number three in the elevator.

Room Tip: room number 18 has fabulous views
