I stayed at this hotel with my husband in January for 3 nights. We selected it based on other reviews of the hotel and we were not disappointed at all. We had a good feeling about the hotel from the moment we booked, with my husband e-mailing the hotel directly to arrange the booking so as to ensure that we got the type of room we wanted (Gold room with a double bed). When we booked, they advised us that they could arrange transport from the airport to the hotel at a rate of €25 including luggage. As I was meeting my husband at the hotel and arriving a couple of hours in advance of him, I decided to go ahead and book this. Everything went smoothly, with the driver meeting me in the Arrivals hall.
At the hotel, I received a very warm welcome and instantly felt comfortable. The room was very pleasant, and a decent size based on other hotels I have stayed in when in Italy. Our room was situated at the back of the hotel, and had a balcony which looked out over the rooftops. Despite being located next to the lift, the room was quiet, and we had very comfortable sleeps.
Some reviews have complained about the breakfast, but I thought it was adequate. The continental buffet included different types of bread, croissants, cakes, cheese and fruit such as bananas and oranges. It may not have been as extensive as what you may be used in the hotel chains such as Hilton or IHG hotels, but this is a small, family run hotel, and there was ample choice for us.
Each night we asked the staff on reception to recommend a restaurant, which they did. We got a different recommendation from a different member of staff each night, who went on to make a reservation for us, and each one was superb. They were all within a reasonable walking distance, very friendly, and the food and wine in each place was excellent.
In terms of location, the hotel was well situated, with Piazza Maggiore only being a swift 5 minutes walk away (maybe 10 minutes if you have a leisurely stroll). However, despite this, the hotel itself was in a quiet location, giving you the best of both worlds.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and all of the staff at the hotel were very friendly and made you feel realy welcome. I would recommend this hotel to others and sincerely hope that we will return in the near future.
