I am a platinum priority club member and travel the world on business stopping at hotels weekly.
Have tried this hotel 3 times now because of its location / close to the airport and because of my priority club membership - both times were as bad as each other.
Hotel does not seem to recognise Priority Club membership in any way.
Reception staff would rither talk to each other when they should be greeting guests with a smile.
Service in not great / very rude, no manners.
Rooms are basic, a little smelly...
Rooms look clean however hairs noted on shower tray and on floor of bathroom.
Was a little chilly during my 2 night stay, the room heating didnt work.
Will look to use the other Holiday Inn next time I am in Bologna on business.
Thank you for your loyalty as a Platinum member. It is unfortunate that you were not satisfied with your stay. Our hotel is very proud of its level of service, cleanliness and quality of its product. The feedback we receive from our valued guests, like you, enables us to target problem areas, We welcome any opportunity to improve.
This hotel was warm - we were there during the cold snap Feb 2012- Efficient service. very sft pillows, lovely. Good breakfast choices.
We stayed twice and both times we found it perfect for our need - that means easy reachable from highway and a good place to just spend the night.
The hotel is as i guess as all other Holiday Inn Expresses - simple, efficient, clean. Nothing more, nothing less. The rooms are simple and not big, but clean.
The staff was helpful (we needed to keep some medicine in their fridge, as there are none in the rooms).
The breakfast was good, the choice was very good - for an Italian hotel especially :) Good coffee, some pastries, pies, ham, cheeses etc.
The location is out of city center, close to exhibition area. You definitely need a car. For us the biggest plus was, that it is quite easy to reach from the highway, and in the morning get back to the highway, without struggling with city traffic.
Very nice Hinn hotel fairly close to the Bologna airport.
Unfortunately very bad internet connections.
Nice breakfast though and very good beds.
The staff were as helpful as they could be considering only one of them on reception in the evening spoke English. I know we were in a foreign country but I stupidly assumed it would be a second language out there as it is in most places..wrong. We stayed 7 nights & the fact it was never below 25, the air conditioning could've been better AND stayed on as I learned one night it automatically turns off during the night & comes back on at 7am leaving you to sweat throughout the night & aside the lobby, there's no air conditioning anywhere else so by 9-10 am, the corridors are hot. You need to do your research on travel if like me you don't drive as it's 20 mins bus to Bologna train station. There is a shopping center over the road though not much available. Breakfast is Ok for the first couple of days but as it's the same stuff everyday, as you can imagine it does get boring quickly. The no free wifi in the lobby was annoying. The rooms however were nice & pretty large.I did like the big window. If you're hungry at night, there are vending machines on all floors & they'll happily change money for you at all times. It was an alright experience but I think my next holiday will involve being closer to everything.
