“1 night stay in Bologna”

Great little hotel for 1 night but no elevator to front desk where the elevator starts...lol
The room was ok but you hear your neighbours as if there in your own quarters. It is very well located for all the attractions and restaurant. 10 minutes taxi ride from train station.

This is a great place to stay in the very heart of Bologna's lively historic centre with a host of great bars, shops, restaurants and food stalls right on your doorstep. We loved the location as we only stayed in Bologna for 2 nights and wanted to be close to the essential sights and sounds and flavours. - wee weren't disappointed! Our room (303) was large and airy and very comfortable with views across the old city rooftops. The breakfast was simple but sufficient and the staff were very welcoming, professional and friendly. The streets around the hotel are pedestrianised and hum from morning to late at night - there are great bars right next door serving aperitifs (tapas) and the Via de Drappiere has wonderful fish, fruit and flower stalls as well as food shops selling local cheeses, meats and truffles. I really loved the atmosphere. The Albergo is also close to many shops and stores so you can do many pit-stops during the day to drop of your shopping while the main historic sights and museums are within walking distance.

This is a wonderful small hotel in the middle of the historic center of Bologna. . Location of this place is perfect - flower shop, fish shops, small cafe, most significant historic places to see - all are within 1-5 minutes walk.
It is difficult to imagine the better place, if you would like to get feeling of how local people live.
Be aware that Friday night and Saturday night could be very noisy till about 2:00 AM.

Room Tip: The best rooms are on a third floor, especially one not facing the street

This hotel is what one thinks of when dreaming of Italy! Charming and friendly, in the heart of old town. Great shower, comfortable beds. Breakfast
Is a delight with Iliana. The flower market and fish market are across the street. The streets come alive at night with music and even some dancing.

Albergo delle Drapperie is a wonderful place with so many good things close by. I had heard good and bad reports about this place but we found that the room we stayed in was large, light, clean and quiet on the third floor with a view and a comfortable table and chairs. The bathroom was equipped with everything needed but we found that the hand held shower in the bath was not great for showering but good for bathing and washing. The breakfast was adequate with fresh croissants, bread, fruit and juice. Our attendant was extremely friendly and made us fresh coffee every day. The thing I loved most about this place was the position. It is right in the centre of Bologna with a most beautiful view greeting us every morning as we came out the front door. The markets happen right outside the door and there are a profusion of colours in both the flower and fruit and veg shops across the road. A colourful way to start the day. The fish market was around the corner and many great delis, bars and restaurants. We found Eataly a few doors down. This is a great find for authentic but modern Italian food, many great beers, wine and books strangely. Although it is sited in a laneway, taxis can get to you, not outside the door, but a few doors down. On Saturday and Sunday the whole centre is closed to all but foot traffic so that needs to be clarified if waiting for a taxi. There is an elevator from the first floor reception only so you need to carry bags up a wide staircase. The reception staff were friendly and helpful but do not speak much English which could be a problem if you have no Italian skills. This Albergo is close to all the great parts of the Centro Storico and its great to have a spritzer in the main piazza late in the day and watch the world go by. Bologna is a beautiful city, easily explored under porticoes all the way rain or shine. I recommend this albergo if you want to be part of Bologna's vibrant life.

Room Tip: Third floor rooms are bigger and away from any market street noise.

This was such a wonderful location, in amongst the the twisting paths and shops but......so so difficult to find as it is in a no driving zone. Even though we had received directions on where to park it was still very very difficult to find, but in the end worth it. We didn't include breakfast as there are so many wonderful cafes right on your doorstep. Room was not modern (but then again the building is several hundred years old) but everything was clean and neat.

A charming hotel, in an excellent position in the old part of the city. Shops, restaurants, bars and cafes all within walking distance. We had a lovely room with beamed ceiling, spacious and very clean. The staff were all pleasant and very helpful. Our only criticism was the breakfast, which was somewhat lacking. But good coffee! The wifi connection, which is important to us, was good.
We will return on our next trip to Bologna.
