“Overall a nice stay, although...”
Reviewed 28 May 2013

We had a Smartbox valid for the other B&B owned by these guys (called '6 di Casa Marconi') and we booked almost three months before our stay.
But on the day of our stay, when we arrived to the '6 di Casa' they said they did not book us at the expected structure, but at the BioCasaMia. So we had to take our bags and walk there (a good 500 meters away).
Ok, not that much of a hassle, but still we were not impressed by the efficiency of the staff.
Then we arrived at the new address, and we found a note on the doorbell saying that the key to our room had been left at a nearby pizzeria. So we had again to walk there to retrieve it.
As you can imagine, the start of our stay was not that good!
Luckily, after getting our hands on the key we did not find any other 'surprises', so we climbed the stairs to the first floor and finally entered the B&B.
Our room was #2. Not huge but not too small either, it is nicely decorated with blue wooden furniture. A small TV is hung to the wall and turns on automatically every time one enters the room (kind of stupid, imho).
The queen size bed would be comfortable, but the pillows are awful! They are so thin, you really need to concentrate to feel that your head is placed onto something...
The window looks on the street, which is not too busy. Still some noise could be heard.
On the following morning we finally met the young lady who runs the place. She is nice and kind, and prepared the cappuccinos for our breakfast. The buffet is not big but it was good: we had a croissant and a pain-au-chocolat which were very good. Other selection included bread, butter, jams and nutella, along with a few non-sweet items like cheese and ham.
All in all not a bad breakfast although we were not that hungry as we had a ultra-rich dinner at Osteria Broccaindosso the night before.
So, to sum it all up... the place is not bad, although it is not as close to the city center as the B&B we booked. Walking to the Piazza Maggiore needs a 15 minutes walk, so keep this in mind when you book
We basically only paid the tourist tax, as the room was covered by the Smartbox, so it's hard to say if BioCasaMia was worth the price.
All in all we had a nice stay, despite the bad start and the fact that we did not stay at the expected place. I'd recommend the owners to choose new more consistent pillows!

We stayed here a Monday night, spend 60 euro + tourist tax including breakfast. We were satisfied to find a clean spacious room outside the ztl for such a good price with decent breakfast (parking is 1,80 euro per hour during day time). The breakfast staff was extremely kind, we would come back as it is a short and pleasant walk to the main square and the centre. The keycard is less personal but it is highly efficient, we could not complain. Very nice body wash/shampoo products.

Room Tip: room 5 has a window to the inner court yard, very quiet.

We stayed at Biocasamia for two nights on our honeymoon. Our visit to Bolognia seemed to coincide a trade fair or conference in the city as there was not very much accommodation available, however, we booked in. BIocasamia does give you a lovely, well presented room, and a great breakfast and while they are there the staff were helpful.

However, we paid twice the amount that we paid for a night in a 3* hotel in Assisi a night later, and we were both a little disappointed to discover a letter on the door telling us to go to a local pizzeria to pick up our keys, and that the B&B was not policed for much of the day. The location was OK, but an uninspiring 20 minute walk into the center of Bolognia.

In all honesty I think two night in Bolognia was probably one too many, and I'd look to stay a little closer to the student area of the city in future.

My wife and I stayed here for a short visit to Bologna. Our room was large enough for our purposes; the bed was comfortable, the room was very well furnished with an excellent bathroom. Breakfast was self-service and adequate to start the day. It is centrally located and can be highly recommended.

My first stay in"organic" accommodation, and a pleasant one, too! The B&B consists of a large apartment, housing some 4 rooms with private bathrooms, and a shared kitchen, where the manager also offers breakfast (organic, Italian style). The interior is decorated tastefully with natural materials, the room was big enough for 2 of us. The apartment gets rather stuffy in the summer, but there was an air conditioner at least in our room. There is wifi-access in the rooms.

The hotel is pretty much automated - you will receive your keycard for the doors, the manager just comes there in the mornings to settle the bills and prepare breakfast. You can pay by card. The manager sais she doesn't speak English (and the guidelines she left us were Google translated and hilarious), but all in all, this was no obstacle. I'd love to have her as my Italian teacher, if I ever took up studying Italian. :)

The downside was parking. The B&B offers no free parking opportunities, and outside, it's rather pricey. But you can take your car to a parking house, where 24h ticket costs somewhat less than parking on the street, if you're staying for longer. Parking is free in the night and on Sundays. The historic centre is some 15 minutes walk away from the B&B.
