“Best birthday dinner!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014

My husband, Charles and I went to La Traviata as recommended by our bed and breakfast hosts. We had one of the best dinners and night out in all of Italy. Antonio and his wife gave wonderful recommendations, took the time to explain the menu in English, and helped pick out the wine and the best dessert. Our food was fresh, delicious, and relaxing! Thanks to you both for your kindness and attentiveness. We can't wait to return!

“The pasta van La mama ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014 via mobile

La traviata

La mama makes the pasta right in front of you.
The food is simple but realy delicious!
Honest kitchen with local fresh ingredients.
We had zucchini flowers in batter, also called 'frittata' mmmmm A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
The pasta with pumpkin was my favorite.
When we go to Bologna, we go to la traviata.

“Quite superb”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2014

Excellent little place near the center. Very pretty decor in 2 small bright rooms, with some sidewalk seating. Wide-ranging Bolognese menu, attended to by a husband-and-wife team. The energetic wife is in charge of the food, the husband of the wine. She is everywhere, personally slicing cold cuts, advising on the menu, etc. The stuffed zucchini flower appetizer was divine, the home-made pastas wonderful. Extensive wine list as well. The crowd was half tourist, half local, a good sign of authenticity. This place had more energy than Al Sangiovese, which was much more low-key. Both were excellent in their own way. PS, the website link above is wrong - the right one is http://www.ristorantelatraviatabologna.it. They take on-line reservations!
