This place is just exactly as you would imagine from the many photos on Tripadvisor. For anyone wanting to get the real feeling of Bolognese history, you can't beat actually living in one of the few remaining towers which have been important to the locals over the centuries. The view from the top of the tower is just beautiful - those gorgeous orange roof tiles in all directions, punctuated by the bell towers and domes of the many churches. The location is very handy for the trendy student quarter and many cheap and cheerful eateries, including the little cafe next door. A 15 minute walk will have you in the centre of Bologna, along fascinating narrow streets and ancient colonnades. There is information available about where the nearest shops are for folks wanting to buy their own food. You will probably need to know this, as Tower guests are not provided with a welcoming "starter" kit, such as coffee or the first morning's breakfast. It was no trouble to nip out and get fresh milk, wine and the other necessities of life. And you could always have a delicious coffee and croissant in the the cafe next door of course. The beds were comfortable, and the views from the medieval windows stunning in all directions.
Just returned from a four night stay in this quirky and comfortable accommodation. The apartment is very well furnished and equipped. The little balcony is a lovely feature, great for breakfast, coffee and G&Ts. The views from the top of the tower are quite breathtaking.
Located in the University district it's very handy for the central attractions, of which there are many in this under-rated Italian city.
Daria the owner is very welcoming and keen to ensure that you have everything you need.
We loved the medieval tower apartment. It has a lovely birds eye view of Bologna and is renovated in a tasteful yet authentic manner. It was only a 5-10 minute walk from the two towers and had a cafe and a gellateria just doors away. What more could you ask for? DAria is a wonderful owner, very responsive and accommodating. Apparently this apartment had actually been hers, which explains the charming and very clean atmosphere. The beds were Comfortable and the linens were very high quality. One caveat- this is a medieval tower- there is no elevator, but it does give practice for your climb up the newly reopened Torre Assinelli.
Thank you Daria for a home away from home in Bologna.
A most unusual apartment spread over several floors with wonderful views of the city which included the iconic ''due torre'. Both bathrooms spotless, the terrace a joy and the bedrooms beautiful, again with stunning views. Lovely kitchen/ding room.
The owner went out of her way to make us feel welcome - thank you Daria.
