“Great cost/ benefit relation”

It's a family owned hotel, the staff is realy nice and helpful.
Very good breakfast for Italian standart.
Very spacious rooms.
The bathroom doesn't have a bath, but very good hot shower all the time.
I reccomend this hotel.

Room Tip: ask for a room not facing the street, the noise will be almost zero.

This had to be the best value for money hotel that we have ever stayed in. For euro 28 a night we received afriendly reception, spacious room, received a nice breakfast and free parking.
Staff were really friendly and helpful and it had a great feel. The location was great and there was an irish pub close by. While we had to share a bathroom, which we knew when we booked, it was only between two rooms.

However the wifi was poor in our room and we had to use the dining room and the shared bathroom could do with some upgrading.

However, overall I woulddefinitely stay here again if I return to Modena.

Hotel is very run down but it was clean, the staff were reasonably friendly and for what we paid we couldn't really complain, though it did take a long time to check in due to them losing our reservation.

The breakfast area only had 2 tables so you may have to wait to be seated. As others have mentioned there some noise from the adjacent pizzeria, but on the plus side said pizzeria is very good and would recommend anyone staying at this hotel to eat there

We originally wanted to stay for two nights in Bologna but found the hotel prices there incredibly expensive. So, we chose to stay in Modena instead, a very pretty town in itself and less than 30 minutes by train from Bologna, with very frequent and reliable connections. The hotel is a bit far from Modena railway station (a good 30 to 40 minute walk, but only ten minutes by bus, which gets you right to the hotel. The Old Town, on the other hand, is only 5 walking minutes away. We had a bathroom shared with another room and this was perfectly alright as the bathroom itself (like the rest of the hotel) was immaculately clean. Our room was facing the street, something we were worried about for the noise, but there was no problem as after dark, the traffic really quietens down and we were never disturbed by the noise of cars. A possible nuisance could be the fact that beneath the rooms there is a pizzeria, where people can also sit outside, so we decided to shut the window as otherwise the dining guests could have been heard in our room. Overall, the hotel offers a great price/quality ratio, the staff is extremely friendly, and I would unreservedly recommend it to all visitors of Modena, who do not want to spend too much, and likewise to Bologna visitors who cannot/ do not want to pay the inflated room rates of that city.

Room Tip: Try to book a room to the backyard or to the side, as the rooms facing the street could be noisy due...

Free wifi, a clean & spacious room and breakfast included!
Nothing fancy, but a nice atmosphere, conveniently located with plenty of parking and the staff were very friendly. I wish we had stayed there longer & will definitely go back to see more of Modena and stay in HSG again! We even had interconnecting rooms with a shared bathroom so our family could stay together. Thank you!

We were in Modena for a day and had to visit Enzo Ferrari Museum and Balsamic Vinegar Estate- Villa San Doninio. Hotel has a bus stop just outside its gate. Bus no. 4 takes u to and from station where as Bus no. 2 takes you to Enzo Ferrari Museum and San doninio from where the Estate is about 750 mts walk.

Lady at the reception was very helpful and provided us the information about the same and she was kind enough to print the directions and give to us. Locality is nice and quite with some good restaurants near by. Stay was comfortable and for the price one pays, its a steal.

We are heading off to sample Balsamic vinegar just this afternoon. The hotel is very clean, easy to find and the price is right. Very hospitable inn keeper, shared bath OK and a quiet night was had by all. A very cozy choice. There is free parking and an adequate breakfast. Try it!!
the elevator makes it easy to take bags UP!! There is a sink in the room with a large bath tub in the bathroom to use. We have scheduled 2 nites.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room.
