Food was good and service excellent. A bit further from the center, but taxi will take you there. The Parma business collega chose this place, so it must be one of the good ones. Nothing to complain. A Michelin Star restaurant it is not:) Italian, down to earth.

Emilia-Romagna food at its very best, in an authentic, warm and informal atmosphere. This family-run trattoria serves the best ingredients available in this part of Italy, a region which has given us parma ham, balsamico and more. Built up by a couple passionate about food and hospitality over the past 25+ years, you feel the pride in serving only the best and in truly welcoming you. A son-in-law has been added to the team, after providing Londoners with food for a few years, and he is gradually learning the standards of the house. Quality-conscious Chinese and Japanese in particular will enjoy the experience of eating and being at Parma Rotta. The star of Emilia-Romagna cuisine is now rising to the high point internationally, with Francescana in nearby Modena ranked among the top-three restaurants in the world. Parma is just a short ride from from Milan. Use the opportunity to see the historic centre of Parma, and drive to Bologna with her wonderful, porticoed centre, and Ravenna which offers some of the oldest and most beautiful churches and mosaics in the world. Add to that Ferrara, Modena, Mantova and Pavia, and you have a string of pearls almost unrivalled anywhere in the world.

This is the best Italian restaurant we found in Italy. The food is amazing, the service is outstanding and Antonio and his family make you feel at home. When in the Parma area don't miss this place. Fresh wheels of parmesan cheese on the table and an outstanding wine cellar collection make this a memorable restaurant occasion. We had dinner here and then lunch the next day and we virtually tried many menu items - all outstanding.

We were here on January the 1st, after 'fasting' most of the day... Our table of 6 was in an almost-private room, facing a vast assortiment of wines: good sign! The decor was cosy and the service very friendly. We decided to skip the 'salumi' as starter, fearing an overdose after a few days in Parma. Every dish was prepared with care, seasonal ingredients and thouroughly satisfying: tortelli and freshly made pastas, meats (smoked pork fillet with artichoke salad... a delight!) and desserts (a highlight, especially the semifreddo, which is hardly ever home-made). A bit on the expensive-side, but we were actually expecting worse... Recommended!

Being a meat lover, I have only ever really consumed the deliciously tasty and extravagant meat here.

What about you? Do you like meat? Do you like Beef? Do you like a Fiorentina? The Italian T-Bone steak is served best at Parma Rotta!

An incredible selection of different meats are available on the menu which tells you the origin of the meat (ranging from Austria to Alaska!) and some of the prices are ridiculous! However, I have been there several times for many a special occasion and we have always been delighted with how tasty, succulent and tender the meat is. They cook it over open fire about 1m off the ground for however long you want it to be cooked (rare to medium rare is always my choice).

You can't go wrong with the antipasto di terra starters (a selection of different types and cuts hams, ranging from COPPA to CULATELLO to PROSCIUTTO).

The Potato Fries are fantastic too, and marry the meat very well (absorb the steak juice ever so nicely!) and to drink, you can choose from a range of reds that will make your pallet orgasm! Barolo or Amarone are the rule when it comes to prime red meat!

I've also tried some bottled Belgian beer which needed the waiter to hit the back of it with a knife to prep it out... a new experience for me, and the beer was so tasty and malty i would seriously recommend it!

By the time dessert time comes, we are too stuffed to move let alone order... But we've managed to gather enough energy to devour a chocolate brownie type dessert like a pack of wolves, and it was delicious.

I would strongly recommend this, but I am only giving this 4 stars for the reason that the prices are a little bit too high for some of the meats, and the last time I went it was a little overcooked and disappointing. Also, the service was not as fast, and they really should've asked whether I wanted another steak when I said it tasted different (especially when the cost is €80!)
