"Menu Turistico" signs in a restaurant's window are always a red flag for me, but we were running out of options, so we decided to try this place. When we arrived (without a reservation) there appeared to be plenty of seats available, but the somewhat surly manager nearly turned us away. After we offered to sit outside, however, he changed his mind, and the initial unpleasant experience was soon forgiven as we began to receive the attention of a very pleasant server.
The spaghetti with clams was pretty good, but the mixed salad that accompanied it was uninteresting and sub-par. There's a selection of house wines that are reasonably priced. Having opted out of dining at a nearby seafood restaurant that would have set us back a couple hundred dollars, Ristorante Vecchia Ravenna da Mario probably seemed a bit better than it might have under other circumstances. But at least it was an acceptable choice.
