“I wish I read some reviews before going..”
Reviewed 1 September 2012 via mobile

Considering that this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel I was expecting MUCH more.

My room had both a double bed and a single one and very small space for manoeuvre. The heavy dark blue curtains and bed spread looked dated and made the room feel even smaller. The rest of the furniture was kind of tired.
The bathroom was ok.

We had to pay extra for the parking space & wi-fi which I thought was absurd.

All in all it felt more like a large two star hotel with an attitude. Don't go!!

Okay, i am an experienced traveler, you name it iv done it, camping, caravans, hostels, backpacking to saying in the worlds 7* hotel; and i have to say this is the worst place i have ever been too in my life. Please don't spend a penny of your hard earned cash in this hell hole!
me and my fiance are meant to be staying in this hotel for 9 nights after travelling the last 9 days around italy and this was the last leg for a bit of sunshine and chillax....then it was snatched away when we checked in to the pits of hell aka the ambassador!

We also like other reviewers for the first time saw photos and read reviews from booking.com when we should have come to trusty trip advisor as we usually would. The photos looked impressive and the place looks nice. Well is a showroom its all fake. The rooms are like a seventies throwback with manky mustard and the saddest shade of green ever i, its all old, dirty, and the wallpaper ripped off and just had random chunks stuck back on.

i'd think for a beach hotel..its literally across the road same as every hotel on the rimini strip that you'd get a beach towel...er no, Can you hire one...er no. Can you buy one from the local shop...er yes. Iv stayed in bloody caravan sights that give you a beach towel!

Okay off to the beach, there is allocated spaces for each hotel. I know sometime previously there can be a small charge...which i think is shocking considering you've already paid to stay here but when you find that on the beach on the grotty sun lounger is £16 per day!!!!!!!!!! is beyond disgusting, let alone when your there for 9 nights!

There is a swimming pool out of the front...which is next to the main road. There are a small number of plastic..really uncomfortable loungers with ants all over, and the running joke of our holiday is the cleanliness of the pool. I would rather drink from the Thames then set foot in the pool. Dirty is not even the word. It is never cleaned, and always a has a dirt residue film over the whole area. Not safe to let kids play in.

The staff are pretty useless and there is one blonde girl on the desk...by the way there are only 6 members of staff in the whole hotel since we have been here, so easy to spot so you know who i am talking about is beyond rude and has no idea of customer service. there is a couple clearly who over sea the running of the hotel as you will see their kids running around and behind the desk...very professional! When i asked to speak to the manager they have told me it is run by an external company and the number is private, you have to email them and then they can forward it on, so i reply what if there is a fire...they reply we are all responsible for ourselves. health and safety would love that!

We have not had our room cleaned in 4 days...she knocks but then disappears however we noticed when we checked in we had the last guest left overs in our fridge and then a woman walked in without consent to check the contents and wanted to charge us even though it wasn't ours. They can come and check your room whenever they like to check if you are using the minibar.

We had one day of full rain so thought we'd try our tv after books and card games, only one English channel there are loads on the digital but guess what u have to pay........

Thought we'd pay for wifi for the trip so we can log on and off to plan some excursions, which there are none in rimini and it was pretty crap and if you mentioned to reception it didn't work then the rude receptionist will ask if you are capable of logging on by yourself...and when she realizes its their end that has a problem she will give you dirty looks and not say anything. trust me when i say its the kind of situation you have to walk away from or want to attack! Mannors anyone?

the breakfast is bland, the waitress..only one member of staff who the has the facial muscles capable of a smile. Ps ever seen red orange juice?

So besides the manky rooms, dirty mini bar, rude staff, crap tv, beach con, dirty pool, pants wi-fi i can only tell you what the result been. We have booked flights back to London and are ending our holiday early then spend another night here. (First for everything i guess) We asked if we can have a refund for the nights we are not staying and u guessed it...they said no! but PS even thought they can rent a now vacant room with 6 nights still paid upfront they can still ask for 10 euros for the wifi! i would rather be imprisoned as im sure you get exactly the same and at least 3 meals a day and a tv with more channels. Don't be fooled by the clean reception.. that is where it ends. If you still go ahead and book...well i cant help but say i did warn you! Forget four stars or two its more like a glorified hell hole!

Room Tip: pick a different hotel!

We booked a 4* as we always do for our short trips to Rimini, this has been the worst. How it is 4* (except for the grand reception hall which is very smart) we do not know, and the lack of manners from staff who cannot even smile! Don't be fooled by the good photos, we for some reason this time didn't read the reviews before booking, we certainly would never ever stay there again, we were made to feel very unwanted, maybe because we are English and don't speak much Italian? I thought hotels were there to serve the customer and be hospitable? I don't think the staff should be in the hospitality business. Saying that the waitress at breakfast was friendly and smiled (yes smiled).

I stayed in this hotel from 04/06 to 14/06.

For dozen of reasons this hotel should be ranked two stars and it is miles away from four stars it claims to be:

1) English -speaking stuff is only available from 8 am to 8 pm, if you happen to check-in outside of these hours, be prepared to speak Italian.

2) If you are unhappy with the primitive, cramped and murky rooms they have, you will not be able to change the room unless you speak Italian.

3)They provide typical 2 stars continental breakfast- pastries, coffee and cereals, no fresh fruits/vegs, no juices,no hot meals; overall choice is limited to the cheapest possible cheese and sausage. Inedible.

4) Be prepared that the best rooms with see vista are reserved for very very loud locals, who stay here for weekend. As they do not understand a word in English, in no way can you ask them to be a little more respectful of you struggling to sleep after midnight while shouting in loud is natural Italian way to express themselves.

5) The the last, but not the least. As Ambassador claims to be four star hotel, there is a fridge in you room. BUT YOU PAY 5 EURO A DAY IF YOU USE IT. TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO, EVERY MEMBER OF STAFF IS ALLOWED TO ENTER YOUR ROOM TO CHECK THE FRIDGE 3 TIMES A DAY on top of cleaning service. They will simply ignore the do not disturb tag. They will enter your room no matter if you are in there, and to catch you with using fridge they do their checks at random time!

Just returned from a short 3 night break at the Ambassador and can honestly say we will never stay there again. It is far from being a 4 star hotel and should instead be rated a 2 star! Upon arrival, we were told in no uncertain terms by the very rude and abrupt receptionist that there was no triple room available for us and that they could only offer a double room! After protest, we were offered another hotel further away with a very unsuitable and very tiny room with 2 beds in for which we refused and insisted we receive the room we had booked with booking.com as originally requested. The receptionist was extremely unhelpful and told us we could have a triple room with a sea view but at an extra cost!! We had no choice but to accept this as she refused to give us her name or to let us see or talk to the manager! The hotel room is extremely basic and dated. The walls are paper thin and therefore extremely noisy hotel. The main pool is right next to the main road, is too small and is closed at certain times of the day. The breakfast is awful and you have to fight to keep hold of your chairs on your balcony, that's if you can manage to get any in the first place!!!!!

So, I booked into the Hotel Ambassador thinking I was booking into a 4* holiday for a little relaxation in the sunshine. This was very far from the case.
The standard of this hotel is NOT 4* in anyone's mind, I am well travelled and have been to many proper 4* hotels. The rooms are very basic and have cheap furniture and fittings. The doors onto the balcony were left open in my room one day after the cleaners had been in - hardly helping to keep my personal belongings safe - especially as there was no safe in the room.
The pool is very small and is right by the main road, meaning that you do not want to sit out there. The beach is ok, but crowded and if you want a lounger and umbrella, it costs about 8 euros per day.
The food is very basic and not of high quality.
The staff were quite helpful but rarely smiled and made you feel an inconvenience if you asked for something.
The worst thing has to be the noise, the walls inside the hotel are paper thin and you can hear everything that happens outside your room and in the rooms near your (they don't even have to be the ones right next door)

If you want t break in a no frills hotel which charges a lot for a poor standard then this is the place for you. If you want something better then I would recommend one of the big chain hotels where you know you will get a proper 4* service and standard.

Maybe 4 star facilities (debatable) but 2 star rooms and 2 star service. Bedrooms equipped with cheap MDF furniture, and cheaper bathroom firrings. Everything is "extra". No entertainment (you may see advertised a piano bar on some sites-there isn't). just ask what you get for paying for a superior room (Nothing I think !) They tried to charge us extra for sea view (even though booked "superior" accom). The pool looses the sun at about 16:30 and there are only 14 loungers anyway.
Nowhere near the convention centre.
Rooms cleaned everyday though.
There is plenty more choice in Rimini offering a true 4 star experience
