“Forget staying here”
Reviewed 18 September 2012

This hotel is situated a stones throw away from a derilict building, which is inhabited by a trap/drug user, who hassels all the people in the street, in which your car will be parked. We arrived at the hotel after booking on line, to find we had no room. After a brief exchange we were offered a room, which was more like you would expect of a hostel not a hotel. The hotel web site must have been photograph many moons ago, as it now is shabby and un-kempt.
There is an awful smell in the street, the same street where you would have to leave your car, if we were to have stayed, we would have worried about it every nite. The area is rather un-savoury.
The hotel has an overall feeling of grim. The toilet was dirty.
We did not take long to decide we were not going to stay in this awful hotel, we had driven for hours to arrive at this place was soul distroying. There was a parrot in the front sitting area, which was off putting, due to the diseases birds can carry. The front sitting area was very grubby with over flowing ash trays. The sea was a good walk away and the pool had an amazing photograph, it did not measure up at all.
The staff were not interested in the fact we had travelled so far, on arrival had found every thing to be the opposite of what we were lead to expect.
Avoid this holiday experience. I am in a wheel chair and found it all very difficult to manoveor around, the worse part being the room we were offered, had a door too small to enter, which was bizarre. It all felt worrying.

I have stayed three times at the Bengasi, and I find you get what you pay, nothing more and nothing less. However, the staff is quite friendly and they take care about you. One morning I woke up late, the breakfast room was closed, but they had kept some food for me, which I ate at the bar with a delicious capuccino.
It is near the beach and a main street with many restaurants, shops, etc...

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms are very small, the bathroom is very dirty, small and there is no shower cabin - you have to stand on the ceramics floor with the drainage to take a shower. They also have some large parrot in the hotel lobby which is very noisy and woke me up at 7 a.m. The breakfast is very poor (bread, jam and milk, coffee or tea from the coffee machine). The terrace in the front of the hotel was very dirty, ash trays were filled with days old cigarettes and there was strong smell of sewage all around hotel. Altogether, this hotel was very disappointing experience, the good thing was that I stayed there only one night. I really can't imagine who would want to spend a 10 day vacation is this dump.

We stayed at this hotel in winter 2004/2005. The hotel and its management are dedicated only to the italians. The others are not honored as their guests. They served very terrible and poor breakfasts. The first who are served were italians, we were the last ones. I don't recommend this hotel anybody.
