“Kind staff, great location”
Reviewed 24 November 2013

The staff was very sweet, especially to our infant. The hotel is located right in the old city and is an easy walk to all the main sites. The room was small but had a gorgeous view of the city walls and the towers. The hotel also kindly set up taxi transfers to the Rimini train station.

My only regret is not being able to give a rating of 6 instead of "only" 5... The Hotel Cesare has answer back, if not exceeded, all my expectations. First of all, the beauty and convenience of the location, being situated in one of the most scenic street of the old town, but with the great comfort of a car park close to the property. The hotel is a structure built in the typical local architecture, which itself already makes it very picturesque; recently renovated and equipped with every comfort. But the real strength of this firm is the family that runs it, who knew how to make a luxury hotel while maintaining the most genuine hospitality typical of San Marino. Their helpfulness and courtesy , as of all the staff, was among the best I've ever tried, and has been the source of a unique experience! Special thanks to Mrs. Elisa and to her Mother for everything!
The structure is a beautiful 4 -star deluxe hotel, located at the beginning of one of the main streets of the city, surrounded by nice shops and museums , a few steps from the main monuments . The rooms , I have seen two of them, are so cozy and equipped with the best international standards, although some might be a bit ' small, but we must consider that we are in a historic building in the center of an ancient city. In any case, the real marvel is the Dreaming Room on the top floor... 180° view over the hills and the countryside, it seems to be on a plane! From Montefeltro's Mountains up to the coast of Rimini, San Marino with it’s lights turning on at dusk, a dream is just an understatement ... It’s a memory for life!
Decorated with attention to every detail, from the bed strewn with rose petals to the wonderful whirlpool tub ... A true balm for the nerves for an escape from everyday stress, with a V.I.P. treatment.
The continental breakfast offers everything you may ask in a similar hotel, especially the delicious hand baked cakes. It deserves a chapter for the restaurant, real flag of the local cuisine , elegant and refined , we particularly enjoyed the calm and relaxing atmosphere , and of course the dishes ... Tagliatelle al ragù: very good ! Especially the cute barbeque corner to view and good wine list. I enjoyed a local wine, Tessano .
San Marino, the oldest republic in the world, a UNESCO world heritage site, really worth a visit, it’s a jewel beyond the Italian borders and from the usual routes: the Hotel Cesare is where you need to go to sleep, I’m almost sure you’ll hardly find any accommodations at the same level in the area.
In a word, Awesome!

Room Tip: 3rd floor rooms

San Marino is the absolute greatest place I have ever visited on vacation. The castles are breathtaking, the city is clean and charming, and the Hotel Cesare is perfect—even for those with high expectations ;)

Room Tip: Upgrade to the rooms with a view—they are worth it.

We spent 4 nights here in September. San Marino is beautiful place and this is a perfect location from which to enjoy it. Hotel Cesare feels just like a small family run hotel, a nice change from the larger impersonal chain hotels. We enjoyed our stay here. The level of service overall was some of the best that I have experienced in a hotel for some time. I don’t usually eat in the hotel restaurant as there us usually so much to explore and try but we ended up having dinner here 3 out of 4 nights because the food was so good. The rooms are a little smaller than some may be used to. I would like to see the aircon improved a little. Everything else was good. The staff was lovely.

Room Tip: Try asking for a room with the best view. The views and sunsets in San Marino are magnificent.

A delightful location for this very well sorted and delightful hotel. Really helpful and welcoming staff, especially on reception. The view from our room (305) was absolutely spectacular! We were on the corner of the third floor and had a near 180º panoramic view out across the countryside below.

Staff are very friendly and the hotel has a perfect location in the old town and very close to car park 6. Rooms have a lovely view over the valleys below. I would only stay here for one night as after a day in San Marino it feels like you have seen it all. Euro 4 for a Limoncello is a bit steep. Decent breakfast. Clean and functional.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view.

I walked the steep climb from the bus stop to the hotel but on arriving the receptionist said that they would have sent me a car to fetch me had I phoned, so that would be my top tip! The welcome was warm and friendly and I was pleased to hear that I had been upgraded to a room with a nice view i.e. room # 106. As I was on my own it was plenty big enough for me although the shower was very small. However, the balcony and amazing view of the valley were absolutely amazing. It was wonderful to sit out with a drink and watch the sun go down. I was offered discount at the hotel restaurant and my only regret was that I only ate there once. The food was very good and the service friendly and efficient. I tried other places to vary my evenings but none were as good. There was a good choice at breakfast including some home-made cakes. The recption staff were friendly and helpful. The first night I was in San Marino there was some medieval style entertainment. I enquired at reception where one of the locations were and the member of staff printed out details of all the events for me. If I were to go to San Marino again I would definately stay there again.
