I can not fault this place! I stayed for 5 nights here and loved every minute! I was greeted every morning by 2 lovely staff members who would always take the time of day to listen or help me out where they could. Beautiful hotel and rooms where fantastic and very clean. Mini bar is included in the price of the room which is handy to know. The hotel is very close to alot of Trieste's main attractions. About a 10 min walk to the marina's and 12 mins to the main piazza and probably a 15 min walk to San Guisto hill. To catch a taxi from the main piazza to the hotel cost 6euro max, but everything is in walking distance so taxi is probably not neccessary only if your arriving by Train then you'll need a taxi or bus. There are alot of coffee shops, a bakery and a supermarket just around the corner and lovely views of the water. I would suggest this place to anyone and thought it was value for money. Thankyou to all the staff at Le Corderie!!

We checked in to this hotel to find a small room sparcely furnished about a 10 euro ride to the center of the city at a rate od 140 euros/day. To take a taxi to the center of city is about 10 euros each way, so add that to the 140 / day-- that equals160 / day. To stay at the Savoia on the harbor- a 4 star property owned by Starhotels, cost 180 euros /day. For 20 Euros per day you really get value. My review says: pay a little lmjor, get a lot more. Le Corderie is perhaps, remember I said "perhaps", a one star hotel. You can do much better.

The hotel is south of the center on a hill with some winding roads, surrounded by multistory buildings, no view on town or sea. Navigation system in car very helpful to find it. It is modern and immaculate and has two nice terraces with some smaller trees. The hotel staff is very friendly and responsive. Location calm and safe, neibourhood: a church that rings the bells now and then, an enclosed old school yard with beautiful trees, and the typical italian multistory buildings; car can be parked safely in a garage (10€ per day) or on the quite street (safe according to staff). The location is not exactly central, at least 20 min walk to the Piazza Unita d'Italia. 5 min walk to bus station with lines 15, 16, 30 to the center (tickets approx. 1.50€ one way; 3.50€ one day). Breakfeast is taken in a nice room or on the sunny terrace. Breakfeast served until 11 has a large selection of italian dolces (very tasty, home made?), excellent coffees, some
breads, yogourts and flakes, a small selection of cheese and meat. We did not have eggs (should be ordered?), the fresh fruit selection was very limited. Internet (one station), journals available in the modern lobby. No restaurants in short walking distance. Our mid sized room did not have lush space but was perfectly sized for a couple, organized efficiently in a modern design without old italian charm (if you expect that).

15 minutes walk from the city centre this is a fantastically well run, small, contemporay hotel with a superb breakfast offer attracting a mix of business people and tourists. The staff could not be more helpful and there is no charge for the contents of the mini bar!

We travel in Europe a great deal and can't say enough about Le Corderie. The place is new, clean, and tastefullly decorated; the staff (especially Edvige) is absolutely and cheerfullly attentive to your needs; there's ample drinks and snacks always available in the lobby; the internet is FREE (not 30 euro as elsewhere!) and the breakfast is one of the best we've had in Europe. Patricia, the pastry chef, is a genius. The place is a little out of the way, so you'll have to be an enthusiastic walker or use car/cabs, but that should not deter you from checking into this wonderful place Especially at the astonishing rates for what you get. Five stars across the board. We're coming back again soon!

We stayed for 3 nights in October and were very impressed. All staff could not have been more helpful, the rooms were comfortable and had all you could wish,in addition the mini bar and indeed the drinks in the reception area were at your disposal, something of a novelty for us.The buffet at breakfast was the best i have seen from the point of view of freshness and variety - cakes, pastries, fruit, parma ham.prosecco, and the rest!
One little note of caution - as you are a good way out of town be aware that the number 8 bus is very close and will take you into town and you can buy an all-day ticket which you can use to take you up and down the coast to Muggia for example not to be missed. anyway a great hotel to which we would certainly return.

I am so glad to have found this hotel. It's possibly the best hotel I've stayed in. The standard price would have been outside my range but there was a 25% discount for a stay of 2 nights or more. This brought the price in line with 3 star hotels in Trieste (and my price range), but the standard of Hotel Le Corderie was significantly higher.

The entire hotel is beautifully designed and the attention to detail is something I wish more hotels had. The staff were all extremely friendly, courteous and helpful even helping me learn a little Italian. The breakfast was delicious with a large variety of brioches, cakes, fruit, cheese, prosciutto crudo etc. I've not had tiramisu for breakfast before but it was gorgeous.

For me the location was ideal as I was working nearby. For those wishing to spend a lot of time near Piazza Unita, it is further than many hotels and is up on the hill so walking there may be a trek for some. Having said that, I think it is definitely worth it.

The only thing I would change would be the taps in the bathroom which were a bit fiddly to turn off.
