Quit nice hotel.
Well located near the city center. Rooms are not too small and the breakfast is good. A little noisy for the rooms near the main street.
It could be good to have a power point near the bed for mobile.

A well located hotel, close to the bus and train station as well as to the city centre and the Convention centre. Reception staff was professional and ready to accommodate guests’ needs although not all of them spoke English and it was sometimes difficult to get the right information. My room was of a good size and with a rather comfortable bed. The furniture was rather dated, though. Although the cleaning service seemed to be doing a pretty good job, the room still felt dusty due to the old, dark carpet and curtains. The bathroom was clean, with an extra supply of towels.

There is free-of-charge wireless internet throughout the hotel, but make sure you have proper extensions for your computer plug in case of a low battery since all the sockets are non-standard. Breakfast was good with a selection of juices, good coffee and a reasonable buffet to choose from.

The biggest downside was noise. I think it is impossible to get a quiet room. Three sides of the hotel, out of four, are overlooking rather busy streets and the sound insulation between the rooms is practically non-existent. Minutes after I insisted on having a quiet room and got one overlooking some old buildings, the room next to mine was given to a young couple with a small baby. Due to the baby’s crying and his/her parents’ trying to calm it down by loud singing, I asked for the change of rooms which was promptly done. No luck. Noise from the street and rather loud hotel guests made any real rest impossible. In general, both the hotel guests and hotel staff (especially in the breakfast room) tend to disregard the fact that there are other people around that might not appreciate overhearing their private conversations.

Room Tip: In case you do not smoke, make sure you ask for a room on a non-smoking floor. Electrical sockets a...

Excellent position for Bus and train Stations and close to main square and shops. Rooms were cleaned and tidied to a good standard. Breakfast was also good. Room was quite small and 3rd floor view was awful over looking dual carriage way and old disused buildings, no facilities for tea/coffee in room and TV was old and large which was not what expected for a hotel of this rating. Room cards failed 7 times in our 5 night stay. Hotel reception while smart and clean was very impersonal and more like a reception for a City Solicitors!! Hotel more suited to Business types rather than holiday makers.

Reception welcome was was frosty with no smiles and little banter.Internet room was out of bounds throughout our eight day stay with no alternative assistance offered. The bar looked dated and uninviting, perhaps that was because there was no service to be had on any evening of our stay.We were constantly awoken at all hours of the night by screaming children and adults with similar vocal .capabilities..Breakfast was sufficient..but one had to endure a woeful racket of flying delph and cutlery non stop.Overall this is a" take what you get" hotel and forget the trimmings.Never again.

We stayed here on route to Montenegro, the hotel was clean and comfortable with good sized rooms. The reception staff were helpful and were more than happy to help with directions and with the car parking staff next door. Breakfast was good. I have to agree with the comment in another review about the bar not being hugely inviting and as the barman appears to do the room service as well you might wait a while for a drink. That said all in all a nice hotel and good value for money.

Hotel was close to trains , buses, and the centre.Hotel was a bit dated and overpriced. We paid extra for an upgrade to the fifth floor but On looking at other rooms during cleaning times it did not seem any better than the others.Asked reception staff for more pillows twice before we had to leave a note for chamber maid.Reception staff gave us incorrect info on journey time of buses to piran and ferry runnings( trieste lines had cancelled that day! ) Might be a good idea if Trieste lines gave info on cancellations to reception to put in the foyer? Breakfast was very good though could have been given a choice of fried eggs as well?
