I stayed at Hotel Colombia for one night, during business trip. This hotel is rated four stars by Expedia, but for the life of me I can't see why. The room was sparsely decorated, which wasn't a problem, and did have a big shower in the bathroom which I appreciated. But two things ruined my stay: the air conditioning and the pillows.
Unfortunately during my overnight stay, Trieste was experiencing unsually hot weather at 35 degrees, but I think the air con 'unit' would not have been able to cope with regular weather. It was set to full blast, 15 degrees which normally would be extremely cold and unpleasant, but the room was at least 30 degrees all night and the air con seemed to be regurgitating warm air. I ended up pulling my bed out and pushing furniture out of the way so that my head was directly underneath the 'cool' air vent. It remained extremely unpleasant. As for the pillows, they were so bad it was almost funny - lumpy and hard. I ended up sleeping on my sweater rolled up into a ball.
The breakfast the next morning was average, and the hotel staff friendly enough but this was a 2 star hotel at best. I would have gone somewhere else and paid more but I trusted Expedia's reviews and ratings.
