It was a really bad hotel, but we just arrived and needed a hotel room, we checked some other, but they were expensive, so we decided to go to Hotel Milano, it was 90 euro for a doubleroom. The receptionists were nice, but the room was under avarage, not nice at all. The shower was okay.
The breakfast was the most terrible I ever tried. All these packed croissants and cakes, nothing fresh. No bakeries, no fruits, no vegetables.
The location is goud though.
II would never go back there.

I stayed in this hotel for business reasons for 2 nights in May 2008.
I booked because of its location. At our arrival we (me and my colleagues) saw it was very average hotel, not worth the money (75,00 EUR a person, bed and breakfast).
My room was very small, window gave to a very small courtyard, very dark and no airconditioning. Definitely not a place for claustrophobic person.
The worse thing: the shower in the bathroom had only extremely hot water, so I complained to the reception. They said they would fix it, but they did nothing. So I had to take a shower in my colleague's room!! Otherwise I would have been 3 days without showering.
The breakfast was the worse I ever had in all the hotels l've been staying in. Coffee, tea and a pair of industrial cakes you can buy in the store for 2,00 EUR a package of ten! No ham, cheese, cornflakes, yoghurt or other usual breakfast stuff.
Oh, another suprise: afetr the first day we realised that this hotel is visited also by prostitutes and their clients! What more can l say?

We booked the hotel before arriving in Trieste, but on our arrival, the reception manager said he could not find a record of our reservation. He still arranged a room for us, but it was a room that had an interior window into an air shaft. It was quite dark, and it was very difficult to get any air circulation. Meanwhile, all of the other rooms in the hotel were empty! The bed was very uncomfortable...mushy, soft. While the hotel is in a great location, right near the train station, I would not stay here again.

Although a fascinating, multicultural, literate city that is packed full of contentious and intriguing history and politics; a place located in a stunning setting; and a transport node sited supremely well for onward travel to Slovenia and Croatia, Trieste isn't a tourist destination and therefore, isn't well served by hotels. This is the best I've encountered, though, for several reasons:

- The website is cheery - check for special offers (which do make genuine discounts)

- The staff are friendly and helpful too - there is a nie vibe in this
place

- The reception areas are pleasant and well-maintained - this feels like a grander hotel than it actually is.

- The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. They don't look as modern as some hotel chains, but they are good for the price (and good for Trieste too).

- The location is handy too - near enough to the station (5 mins) to drag a bag, and right on the edge of the Borgo Teresiano (C19th New city - that leads to the main Piazza and the old city beyond).

- Pound for pound / Euro for Euro, this is the best place I've found in Trieste - I've tried others since, but, to my regret, they promise more but deliver less.
