“Wonderful house in a beautiful town”
Reviewed 8 July 2012

My wife, two sons and I stayed in this house in June, 2012. In the weeks leading up to our stay the owner, Giacomo, was very accesible and helpful via emails. He asked us to let him know approximately when we'd be arriving on the train so that he could be there and ready to help us with our bags, if necessary. When we needed him during our stay, he was very responsive and helpful.

The house was stocked with everything we needed and featured two bedrooms. The largest had a king bed and the other had two twins and a balcony which overlooked the main pedestrian street. The living room was on the small side but, in a town like Riomaggiore, who wants to stay in? Kitchen was well stocked and even had a table to seat four. Good sized bathroom by European standards and washing machine was very handy.

Location was great as the town was literally at our doorstep. Nice restaurants and markets. The beach is rocky but the water is unbelievable! Be sure to hike the trails between the five towns of Cinque Terre for great excersize and an experience you won't forget.

We've done quite a bit of travelling and have stayed in everything from hostels to B&B's to apartments. I would not hesitate to recommend this house to anyone. Also, please note that Giacomo also rents a house in the next town, Manarola.

Three of us stayed for 5 nights at the end of June. The location was perfect and we could not find a better village to stay. Swimming was close at hand and restaurants were very good. Alberta Casa Vacanze had everything we needed for a wonderful break. Five nights was not enough! Thank you Giacomo.

Manarola was our favourite Cinque Terre village and we loved Alberta Casa Vacanze. Myself and two adult children stayed three nights and had the most wonderful time. Having a kitchen meant we saved on a couple of dinners, the shower was great and the beds comfortable. The third floor deck was perfect for eating dinner and watching the sea and waterfront activities. Highly recommend Giacamos home and hospitality, and so helpful with information before our arrival. You won't be sorry you if you book here, Ciao Giacamo!!

We stayed at Alberta Casa Vacanze for three nights at the end of May. Giacomo was a very good host from the time of booking right up to our arrival and departure.

The house is located within a five minute walk from the train station, in front of the waterfront area and the marina where there are local ferries to the other towns along the Cinque Terre. As others have mentioned, the house is well equipped with all the essentials that you need and having a washing machine was a bonus. The views were superb and we drank local wines from the supermarkets and souvenir shops on the balcony in the evenings.

I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay in Cinque Terre. Manarola is an excellent town to base yourself in as its not too touristy, there are a number of good local restaurants (like Billy's) and you can easily walk along the Via dell Amore to Riomaggiore in 15-20 minutes.

The only negative is the narrow spiral staircase inside the house, so it may not be suitable for people with mobility problems. There is also only one bathroom so bear that in mind if you are travelling in a large group as the house can sleep up to 5 people.

Perfect location. Our 6 and 4 year olds loved the spiral staircases and the seashell decorations. We loved the thoughtful touches - the coffee, tea, oil and vinegar and jams, the fresh local lemons, the toiletries, hairdryer and extra towels, blankets and pillows. We enjoyed the terraces with perfect sea views, the nice furnishings and dishes. Giacomo was patient and helpful, making sure we had free parking and helping us with our luggage. The apartment was sparkling clean. Our favorite place out of many lovely spots on our three-week vacation. Try Marina Picolla for a great setting for mussels at sunset. Enjoy the ferries and the fast trains. Come back to Manarola for sweet and welcoming locals and creamy gelato. Meet the local cat who sleeps on a boat halfway up the main road. Try the playground with a five-star view. Perfect stay.

My family stayed in this amazing apartment overlooking the marina in July of 2011. The accommodations were excellent, but the service began long before our arrival. Giacomo is such a help with advice on travel to and around the area. As for the apartment, it is clean, stocked with kitchen items and a washing machine and fridge. The beds are comfortable and when the doors are closed, the sounds from the restaurant below are muffled. The location is ideal, as Manarola doesn't have the large amount of traffic of the other 5Terre cities. I would recommend this place for a romantic getaway, a base for the area, or just a quick stop over for the 5Terre for a few days. This place is great! Ciao, Giacomo - we loved it!

The Cinque Terre was the highlight of our Italy trip, and Giacomo's hospitality at Alberta Cas Vacanze was outstanding. The apartment was clean, well furnished and had fanatstic views overlooking the sea. The steps in the apartment were a little challenging, especially after a 4 hour walk along the cliff tops, and we found the shower to be a bit small, but other than that, I would highly recommend staying here. We thought Manaola was the best of the 5 villages. So if you are looking for a well priced, comfortable place to stay, give Giacomo a call.
