“Not the bet place to stay”

This apartment is quite a way away from the B&B building. No WiFi except back at the B&B. we were there 3nights. There were 4 adults and the first day we ran out of toilet paper and when we asked for another roll they said they usually only provided the first roll. There was nothing mentioned in any of the info I received about this. Also, no breakfast included in the apartment, just in the main building. I would not stay here again as it was not really as represented and not really close to any of the villages and there was no view at all from this apartment.

“3 nights in Chinque Terre”

The B&B is located in Volastra. You can walk down to the closest (Manarola) town in about 40 min with shoes. You only walk back up once :-), then you learn to take the bus, which costs 2 euros one way per person and only runs from 7am to 8pm, which is not great if you want to eat out at in Manarola. The rooms are small with no aircon. In summer it gets very hot. Breakfast is the same every morning: Bread, yogurt, juice and coffee. No variety, which gets to you after 2 days. Volastra has one very expensive restaurant, whereas the coastal towns have a lively night atmosphere and many restaurants.

Of the 5 towns, it is really only worth visiting Manarola, Riomaggiore and Vernazza. Corniglia has the least to offer and has many, many steps up the mountain before you reach the town. Manarola has the best swim area and one can stay there for the whole day and not get bored.

Next time we would rather book an apartment in Riomaggiore or Manarola. Riomaggiore is the best option as it is less popular than Manrola, so accommodation is cheaper and 24h car parking only costs 10 euro per day. The only difference in Manarola is the nicer swimming areas. The sea is warm in summer with lots of colorful fish.

You can park at all the towns, 24h paid parking is available. At Manarola we paid 1.5 euros per hour.

The food, the sea, the views make Chinque Terre one of the best spots in all Italy to visit.

We stayed for just one night in one of the apartments at B&B Il Vigneto. It was a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend it!

The apartment was spacious and very clean. We had a good night's sleep in the comfortable bed, and we cooked breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen. It was easy to find the local grocery store and the walking trail to Manarola. Beautiful view of the sea from the communal outdoor area of the other building :)

Some small points to improve on - the Wifi is only accessible in the building above the office (not in the apartment we stayed in), and the shower can vary from hot to cold (probably because someone in the other apartment was showering at the same time).

However, I really appreciated the customer service aspect. Andrea went above and beyond to help us - he picked us up from Manarola, let us check-in during the late evening, offered us wine from his family's winery, and even returned my forgotten power cords by post! He is very nice guy and was a pleasure to chat to :)
