“amazing!”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

This place was just amazing in so many ways. The room was super clean and comfortable. You are right in the heart of the town. The hosts were very nice people and always available. Cinque terre is a place you could never forget!

There are hardly words to describe how wonderful staying at Maria room is all about. 'MAGICAL' and 'SPECTACULAR' are the first that come to mind.

It's not just the position tucked right above the Manarola picture-perfect harbor - which alone makes you feel like you woke up in a Fellini movie - it's the rare mix of charm and disarming kindness Nicoletta and Gualtiero surround you with. Nicoletta should be the town major: she effortlessly mastered the reservation process, my many questions and coordinated everything we dreamed about; while Gualtiero made us feel genuinely at home in a way that only Italians can. Note: stop by Gualtiero's lovely wife and pick up a bottle of the local Cinque Terre wine on the way to the room

We stayed at Maria room. By American standards it's small but it's small and well organized in a way that fits perfectly with what Manarola is all about. The in-room wifi (NOT common in Italy!!!) and the little fridge are a nice touch. Wine glasses and a kettle got used every evening and every morning as we were enjoying the end or the beginning of the day on the beautiful balcony. BTW, the balcony is WAYYYY longer than what I thought making it our favorite hang out place in Cinque Terre.

As one of the top TripAdvisor contributor and as somebody who visited 71 countries I can honestly say that what you experience at ManarolaSoleNare is uniquely wonderful! MAGICAL and SPECTACULAR!

Thank you - Grazie Nocoletta and Gialtiero! We'll be back!

This was a perfect place for us to end our visit to Italy. For me, nothing surpasses right on the water. We could wake up and go to bed with the sea. The room is modest in size, but well maintained, has a lovely balcony and the wi-fi was great. Teakettle and instant coffee, but just a short walk to a great breakfast place: Aristade. Our hosts were lovely and charming. I feel that Manarola is the loveliest of the villages. There is a wonderful walkway/park along the point that is perfect for watching the sunset. Instead of hiking the Vernazza to Monterosso main trail (the only section open this May), we hiked from Manarola to Corniglia, a high winding path among the olives and grapevines and woods. Not as crowded, with the same spectacular views.

Our stay at Manarola Vista Mare was lovely! Hosts were wonderful, view was spectacular, location was perfect. Gualtiero and his father were so kind and helpful. They even greeted us with umbrellas in the village and then carried our overpacked bags up the hill for us. Wish we had more time here because day 1 was rainy but this just means we will return, hopefully sooner than later.

Room Tip: Lots of steep steps up to the room so pack lightly!

My husband and I stayed three nights in Camera Maria. Details on the website were completely accurate. The view from the balcony was stunning. Perfect location for sunset with a glass of wine, and seeing the locals come out to enjoy the view/day. Owners were extremely helpful and pleasant to talk with. We look forward to returning and staying here again.

Loved everything about Manarola! We will be going back to this wonderful spot. One of the best views of all the places we have traveled, just GREAT! We had heard about "Billy's" (Trattoria Dal Billy) and Gualtiero was kind enough to get us reservations (7pm instead of 9pm inside weather was hit or miss this day). So to cap off a travel and hiking day with a great dinner and the best travel story we shall ever ever have. This is taken from my Facebook page trust me it's worth the read.

My Wife and I are 20 minutes pass the middle of nowhere at the edge of the village of Manorola, in Cinque Terre Italy, at Trattoria Dal Billy.
We have a 7 o'clock reservation, and are sweaty from the uphill stroll. We decided on inside seating due to rain on and off during the day. Another couple took the last table outside with no umbrella.Sure enough it starts to pour...heavily. Billy, the gruff owner, moves some tables while grumbling in Italian. Before long the outside damp couple is sitting next to us.
Very soon we notice they speak English and strike up some casual conversation...How did you hear about Billy's?? Where you from? (Canada) Where you going? How long is your vacation? "You're from Providence, I went to Grad school there in 2000-01"
Me: (using my physic abilities) "Sounds like Brown and lemme guess you lived off Hope St."
Mitch (former grad student now Doctor): Yes, I did how did you know?
Me: Wild guess. (Hope Street is one of the longest streets in the City and passes the Brown campus)
Mitch : I don't remember the name of the street but there is a Dunkin Donut at the corner and a Asian restaurant on the other side.
(note: DD closed in 2007 moved to Pawtucket line near LJ's BBQ)
My Wife: Apsara I love that place.
She and Mitch start chatting about Apsara dishes and I'm looking around for Robert Redford and Brad Pitt in Spygames. Because this conversation just hit coincidence, random but still coincidence.
Mitch talked out how they lived in the smallest house on the street.
Mitch's wife, then girlfriend talked about the deck off the master bedroom.
OKAY.. we just passed coincidence at breakneck speed and the theme for Twilight Zone is cueing up!!!
My Wife asks them to remember everything they can remember about the house. Mitch states that the basement wasn't finished and when he did laundry...I finished his sentence stating how he had to be careful not to bang his head on the joists.
Mitch: How do you know that?
Me: Because I'm pretty sure I bought that house in 2005!
His Wife: There was hole cut of the wall between the dining room and hallway!
Me: Still there, but now has granite shelf.
His Wife: There is a lot of wood over the doors and whole in the wall.
Me: Gone, took it down and ripped more traditional moulding and installed it.
All of us are just amazed, they just cannot remember the address to be sure.
We exchange contact and email information then enjoy our respective phenomenal meals and call it an unbelievable night.
The next day while hiking my Wife gets online at a village store we stop at and reads an email.
"You guys painted it yellow and white it looks very cute!"

So let's sum it up of the two places they lived in Providence, I bought one of them and we meet a third of the way around the planet in a little tiny village, at small restaurant that they get inside seating due to inclement weather.
Where would you file that???
