This place is incredible!! It was the highlight of our Italy trip. The views are priceless!! The house is easy to find, Debora is very kind and easy to work with, and you will not want to leave the terrace EVER. Each room has an ocean view and you will go to sleep listening to crashing waves. You WILL NOT be disappointed!!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Arpaiu, our room was cozy with amazing views right out across the bay and the bathroom was impressive, as well. The location can't be beat - we loved seeing our window on postcards of the town. Of the five towns, Cornigla was our favorite, but due to the endless steps up from the train station, Manarola was a close second and we would definitely stay here again.

Situated in Manarola, Cinque terre (the nicest of the 5 lands, in my opinion), this apartment block of four is the best you can expect. Great price at €90 per night which includes a large bedroom, separate bathroom, generous cupboard and a common room upstairs with a huge balcony that overlooks the town from the edge of the mountain over the mediterranean sea. One of the most amazing locations on the planet. You cannot ask for more. Our host (Debora) was very welcoming, full of knowledge and advise, and generous with our access to the building. We had everything. Great room, stunning view, easy location to the main street, free wifi, free coffee and free chocolate. All very important when you spend most of each day trekking between the towns of Cinque terre.

The trekking tracks between the villages are challenging and breathtaking and not to be missed. Especially the 6b and 2 from Manorola to Volastra to Corniglia and then onto Vernazza. Also the 2 between Vernazza and Monterosso is amazing. It is hard to put the views into words, but whatever you do, put Cinque terre on your list and make sure you stay at Arpaiu.

Debora was very efficient on email and mobile phone and responded quickly to enquiries. Easy transaction and truly perfect holiday and accommodation. Email me at chris.hoath@gmail.com with any questions.

I can't say enough about this small inn in Manarola. We arrived a day late (thanks to Alitalia) and the hotel owner didn't charge us for the missed night. I had been fully prepared to take the hit for the lost night. We paid cash on arrival, which seems common in small inns like this. She also kindly called to make dinner reservations for us at Billy's.
We found the Arpaiu easily, although it is not an easy walk uphill with luggage. (If you have difficulty walking uphill, you really shouldn't be traveling to Cinque Terre anyway!)
We stayed in Zin Zin, which was small but more finely furnished than Arpaiu's website suggests. There is a view from the room, but the window shades make it difficult to see out of. I don't think I'll every forget the sound of tipsy Italians walking by our window at night, on their way home from the bar. It may sound annoying, but I found it charming! Ha! You could also hear the waves crashing from this room. The walkway is right outside Zin Zin's window.
Plenty of hot water in the shower, and water pressure was fine.
You owe it to yourself to stay here, if just to sit on the patio for hours and enjoy the view. Aside from that, the town is cute too.

Our introduction to Arpaiu's Ondina Studio apartment happened during what felt like a Force Ten hurricane at 10pm on October 27, 2012. We arrived by train after a 12 hour trip from Avignon. The noise of the wind and the waves inside the apartment with the window closed was so loud we wondered how we would sleep. But we did. We awoke to a stunning view of the Mediterranean from our apartment window and the storm had abated. The apartment we stayed in had a magnificient view of the sea. It was spacious and comfortable. It had a table that enabled us to eat in and facilities to make hot drinks and cook. Deborah who runs the apratments was very helpful. Several times she rang restaurants for us to book and get informations about trains or movies. Nothing was too much trouble. The upstairs lounge room around the corner had free WiFi and was a lovely retreat, with a great view and outside deck as well as facilities to enable us to make a drink. Manarola is one of the prettiest of the five Cinque Terre towns and central to the coastal walks (which sadly were closed by rockfalls when we visited) and also the higher walks which have superb views of the sea and coast below. Friends stayed in the same apartment a few years ago and loved it and so did we. We would stay here again at the drop of a hat. it was like a second/third/fourth honeymoon.

Room Tip: 1. Try not to arrive at ten pm at night in the middle of a storm! 2. Ask for the first floor apartm...

We stayed here for four days and it felt like we were in a dream! Our room, Mia, was wonderful...a large window overlooking the sea below, a comfortable bed, lots of room and a large modern bathroom ...what more could we ask for? It is a good hike up to Arpaiu, but we were prepared for a longer journey from other comments. They do have a coffee machine located near the deck but no coffee packets, just tea. The views from the deck were again outstanding and it was nice to meet the other guests. The only drawbacks of Arpaiu are: no breakfast(although there is a frig in each room, so you can prepare your own), no daily cleaning (although we left our room each morning as suggested in the room info), and no sink upstairs to wash cups and get water for the tea. Therefore, you have to run down to your room to do these simple tasks. These are small complaints, but could be easily solved. We would stay here again.

Found this hotel on Trip Advisor, and it did not disappoint! We stayed in the Zin Zin room for 3 nights. Room was small, but definitely had enough room for the 2 of us. Hotel was very clean and quiet, bed was comfortable, and the views were amazing! We spent our evenings on the upstairs terrace, and slept with our window open, listening to the waves crashing on the rocks below. The owner was so easy to work with, and had helpful hiking suggestions (when we visited the more popular trails were closed because of a rock slide.) It was also very easy to find! Manarola is a smaller, quieter town, but we were glad we had decided to stay there. Very quaint! We used it as our base and visited all 4 of the other towns. I would definitely recommend staying in Manarola, and would definitely recommend this hotel!!!
