Superb impressions! Great services and human friendly environment. A lot to see and explore. Do not plan sunbathing!

Wow, weren't we disappointed in Cinque Terre! We had heard nothing but positive things about this tourist destination and we were extremely disappointed. We would absolutely not recommend this tourist attraction, It was dirty, un-cultural and although the views were nice, you can do better. We spent time in Portofino and we would recommend going or a drive or spending time around this area than bothering to visit Cinque Terre. You have to pay to walk on parts of the walks, which only allows you one hour to get to the next spot. Don't waste your time, go to Portofino or better still head own to the Amalfi coast for a better experience. Cinque Terre was our worst day out of our 3 week trip.

Had a wonderful few days exploring Cinque Terre. It is a really beautiful area and each of the five villages are very different and well worth taking time to explore each one.
Some of the easier footpaths were still closed after last years land slide, but there is a good and regular train service between each place. Beware though that not all trains stop at all stations. The stations are very tiny too, so try to board in the middle of the train to avoid having to get off in the tunnel.
There is a bus service from the train station up to Corniglia several times a day. Good to take up to the top and then walk down the Landarina, 33 flights with 377 steps. So much easier this way!!!

Cinque Terre is so so beautiful and well worth a visit, we stayed for 3,5 days and had plenty of time to explore all the villages. A lot of the footpaths along the sea was closed due to reconstruction after landslip. That was a bit boring but you had a lot of other walks to choose from that had an amazing view and the train service running continuously until late makes the area easily accesible, not for people with disabilities though.
The food was amazing at every restaurant we ate at, will definietly be returning!
