The interior rivals many of the other well known churches in Italy or anywhere? Beautiful stained glass and similar green and white marble construction to the Cathedral in Sienna!

Unique placement next to water. Nice altar and art. On edge of main square. Worth the walk and eating places nearby.

After St. Peters almost everything else underwhelms. Church of San Lorenzo was a great place for austere solitude, contemplation, and prayer.
